Story
Mardi is one sweet, big ole snuggle puppy! She loves to climb in your lap and sleep on her back with all 4 feet straight in the air! She is 14 weeks old according to the vet. She is going to be a large dog we think, judging by her paws and her current weight of 27 lbs. Mardi has done an excellent job potty training and is 90% complete. She sleeps in a crate at night for 6 to 7 hours without any potty accidents. She plays well with our 3 dogs and is not food protective. She does LOVE her food though and treats! She also loves chewy sticks and toys! Mardi loves playing outside and would be perfect in a fenced yard. She does not struggle on a leash but has not been formally trained. She is a gentle soul, not overly energetic, who simply wants to be loved. She has not been tested with cats. Mardi has been dewormed, microchipped, tested for heartworm, and is on preventive. She has been spayed and has received the distemper-parvo combination vaccine, Kennel cough vaccine and Rabies vaccine. For more information, please call the Bedford Humane Society at 540-586-6100, or go to https://www.bhsva.org/adoptables to fill out an adoption application.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.George was brought to the shelter with his buddy Martha. George is a youngster at only five to six months old, and is a big boy! While he has black and tan hound coloring, his coat and thick body shape make us think Rottweiler mix. What a handsome boy he is, and so happy and personable! George and Martha love playing together, and needed to be separated now that they’re both getting bigger, but they love hanging out in the play yard even though they aren’t sleeping in the same kennel run any longer. George would love to be adopted and in a home with someone who loves big puppies and is willing to take on the challenge of training! Is that you?  #countryboy #rockwaldersareeasytotrain #nothinbutarock     If you are looking for a playful pup for your family, one that has enough energy to play and chase all day, then George is the dog for you. Even though he's big, he's a baby: just six months old. He needs a family to belong to and to teach him all the good manners that big dogs need to learn. He is friendly and respectful with the volunteers and plays well with other dogs. George has not been around cats or other small animals, but given his youth, all things are possible with the right family and the right introductions.    PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 2, 2024, 10:18 am

Story
They call me Exuberant, Handsome and Sweet but you can choose a new name for me when we adopt each other. I don’t care what you call me, as long as you call me. I’m a happy dog who loves people more than anything else in the world. I’m a 4+ year old mix, with a 22” collar and am very big and strong. The Vet said I weigh 73 pounds. Don’t let that scare you because I am just a mushy ball of love. I like to let everyone know how happy I am to see them by twirling around and wagging my tail as fast as it will go. This is usually when they call me Exuberant. I like to have fun. I’m such a good boy and I have good potty manners. I prefer being inside with people at night especially. Since I have a lot of energy and need exercise, your large fenced yard will be well-used. My foster peeps say I need a family, not a job. They know that I’m a quick learner and will be someone’s best dog ever. Because I’m big and young at heart, my new humans should have some experience with dogs and be able to work with someone of my stature. I promise I will try to do everything you ask enthusiastically. I don’t like loud booming noises (fireworks or dynamite) or gunfire but neither do most of my friends. Health wise, I am terrific; up to date on shots and tested negative for heartworms. Foster peeps say it means I will get my forever home very soon! Maybe it’s yours! Story
Gus is the bestest Boxer mix we’ve ever seen 💙 He loves other dogs & all humans. Homes with tiny humans may not be the best fit as Gus has a lot of playful energy. He’s such a happy, goofy, bouncy sweetheart of a dog. He needs an active family & a fenced in yard would make their life so much easier. He’s happy to sit and look at you with those big, sad, brown eyes and get all the pets you can give. But he’ll probably jump for pure joy as soon as you stop. This dog has a lot of love to give & he gives it freely. Gus loves to ride in the car, play at the dog park, take long walks (he is very good on the leash), meet new people and dogs, and is good with cats. He also loves to splash in the lake. This guy is the real deal - an awesome companion!FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TNAdoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering.
