Story
Mardi is one sweet, big ole snuggle puppy! She loves to climb in your lap and sleep on her back with all 4 feet straight in the air! She is 14 weeks old according to the vet. She is going to be a large dog we think, judging by her paws and her current weight of 27 lbs. Mardi has done an excellent job potty training and is 90% complete. She sleeps in a crate at night for 6 to 7 hours without any potty accidents. She plays well with our 3 dogs and is not food protective. She does LOVE her food though and treats! She also loves chewy sticks and toys! Mardi loves playing outside and would be perfect in a fenced yard. She does not struggle on a leash but has not been formally trained. She is a gentle soul, not overly energetic, who simply wants to be loved. She has not been tested with cats. Mardi has been dewormed, microchipped, tested for heartworm, and is on preventive. She has been spayed and has received the distemper-parvo combination vaccine, Kennel cough vaccine and Rabies vaccine. For more information, please call the Bedford Humane Society at 540-586-6100, or go to https://www.bhsva.org/adoptables to fill out an adoption application.

Story
bio pending! notes: excitable & sweet, eager to please, loves people, bouncy, bright, not anxious when left alone, doesn't like commotion or loud noises. Would like a calm home where she can feel secure. Sits well for treats. Not the best on a leash, but a manageable size, so training should be a cinch since she also quite treat motivated. Appears potty-trained. Named after Liz Taylor cuz she's so prettyyyy! Looks like a rottie half dipped in cattle dog. The kind of dog who will always be excited to see you when you come home! Probably good with kids, unsure about other dogs, but is LIKELY a no-go on cats. updated: 10/30/24

Story
Rosa is a rottweiler who weighs about 90-100 pounds and is guessed to be around 6-8 years old. Rosa was looking pretty rough when she found herself in a high-kill shelter in SW Va. Since coming to us, she has flourished! Rosa is a smart girl who knows how to sit and shake hands. She loves food and is willing to work for it. She is big and strong but is well behaved for her foster mom. We are looking for a strong, competant owner for Rosa who does not have other pets. We would love to see Rosa in her very own home with her very own family. A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Rosa, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other "slow to adopt" dogs! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.George was brought to the shelter with his buddy Martha. George is a youngster at only five to six months old, and is a big boy! While he has black and tan hound coloring, his coat and thick body shape make us think Rottweiler mix. What a handsome boy he is, and so happy and personable! George and Martha love playing together, and needed to be separated now that they’re both getting bigger, but they love hanging out in the play yard even though they aren’t sleeping in the same kennel run any longer. George would love to be adopted and in a home with someone who loves big puppies and is willing to take on the challenge of training! Is that you?  #countryboy #rockwaldersareeasytotrain #nothinbutarock     If you are looking for a playful pup for your family, one that has enough energy to play and chase all day, then George is the dog for you. Even though he's big, he's a baby: just six months old. He needs a family to belong to and to teach him all the good manners that big dogs need to learn. He is friendly and respectful with the volunteers and plays well with other dogs. George has not been around cats or other small animals, but given his youth, all things are possible with the right family and the right introductions.    PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 2, 2024, 10:18 am
