Story
Barkley is a sweet 5 yr old rottie mix. She has been in rescue over 3 years. She needs to find her forever home. She does have a high prey drive, so no cats or small dogs. She has done absolutely fine with older children. She has not been exposed to smaller kids other than walking through the store and did fine. She has been completely vetted and is house and crate trained. She loves her belly rubs and will often wait for you to give her one before coming inside. She has no issues being left alone in the home. Would you be the family she has been waiting on? We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
This boy is the last of the litter still looking for a home. He is very friendly, loves to play and would love an active family. He gets along with other dogs and doesn't have to be the alpha. He will need all the puppy training as he's never been inside of a house. He is a quick learner and is learning manners when greeting people (he's a bit jumpy). He is a fun boy who just wants to have a good time. He is located in Tennessee but can be transported through Rescue Riders.

Story
Rosa is a rottweiler who weighs about 90-100 pounds and is guessed to be around 6-8 years old. Rosa was looking pretty rough when she found herself in a high-kill shelter in SW Va. Since coming to us, she has flourished! Rosa is a smart girl who knows how to sit and shake hands. She loves food and is willing to work for it. She is big and strong but is well behaved for her foster mom. We are looking for a strong, competant owner for Rosa who does not have other pets. We would love to see Rosa in her very own home with her very own family. A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Rosa, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other "slow to adopt" dogs! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Story
Looking for an excitable & sweet, eager-to-please new addition to your fam? LIZZY TEE could be for you! A beautiful girl, Lizzy LOVES people and would ALWAYS be ecstatic to see you when you come home! She's bouncy & bright; named after Elizabeth Taylor because she's soooo pretty! Truly, she looks like a rottie half dipped in cattle dog! Miss Lizzy would likely appreciate a calm home in order to feel secure as she startles easily. Loud noises and commotion are not her cup of tea. She doesn't seem anxious when left to her own devices, though. Lizzy Tee appears potty-trained & sits well for treats, but isn't the best on a leash. She's a very manageable size, however; and VERY treat motivated so training her up to snuff should be a cinch! She's a smart one! We think Lizzy Tee would be great with respectful kids, but are so far unsure about how she handles other dogs and we believe cats may not be for her. We will keep her bio updated with any news! Call the shelter to set up a meet & greet with Lizzy! updated: 11/06/24

Story
DIDA IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO VA ONCE ADOPTED! Say hello to Dida! She is a 2-3 year old boxer. Dida is about 45lbs. Dida entered her foster home as if she had always lived there. She loves each and every one of her foster siblings. It took a few days, but she showed us all how to really play with toys. Dida has been uncrated in her foster home from day one and is FOOLPROOF. She walks well on lead. Her house manners are impeccable. Understandably, Dida is still cautious around new folks, but quickly warms up. Her boxer dancing and prancing are a joy to see. If you love the breed, DO NOT miss the chance to love this girl all the rest of her days. The best home for Dida will have a secure fence. Kids over 10 and with excellent doggy manners would be ok. Another well temperamented dog would be fabulous. An excellent history of vet care for current or previous pets is required. Previous specific breed experience will be given preference. She is fully vetted including spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and all puppy vaccinations. Her adoption fee of $600 includes the transport to VA. We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Dida up north to her new family.  If you have any questions, please email us at: newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com You can apply to adopt Dida here: www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 1:30 pm
