Story
Meet Juno, a resilient female Rottweiler with a heart of gold who desperately needs a loving home. Recently rescued by BARC and part of a cruelty investigation, Juno's story is one of heartbreak and incredible strength. Found in a house where her owners had been evicted, Juno was the sole survivor among three dogs. The conditions were deplorable, and her two companions had tragically starved to death. Juno herself was in terrible shape, starving and doing what she had to survive, suffering from a cherry eye, severe skin issues, broken nails, growths, and swollen joints, making every step painful. Despite her suffering, Juno's sweet and gentle nature shone through when we met her. Her calm demeanor during the car ride to the vet and her patience while being examined melted our hearts. The vet confirmed her gentle disposition, describing her as incredibly sweet and easy to handle. Juno is now safe and receiving the medical attention she so desperately needs, including seven different medications and plenty of TLC. However, her journey to recovery is far from over. She will need x-rays and possibly more tests to ensure she heals fully. This brave girl would thrive in a foster home where she can receive the comfort and love she has been missing. Story
Onyx is a 2 year old Rottie pup who is a really sweet but active boy. Onyx still has a lot of puppy energy, so his parents need to be strong as he is a big boy. He is very affectionate and loving. When his foster mom is standing next to him outside and tells him to sit, he immediately does so and then he'll offer his paw if she says "shake". Then if she asks "pets?", he puts his head up against her leg and he gets pets. By then he usually melts to the ground and ends up upside down begging for belly rubs. He is very smart and sensitive. Positive reinforcement in the form of treats and verbal praise is highly effective to teach him replacement behaviors. A home with a fully fenced yard would be ideal for him, as well as a family who can dedicate time for training, exploring and movement! Onyx came from a high kill shelter where he was surrendered by his previous owner. He was very scared when we first got him, but with decompression, he has now settled down. He definitely needs a parent that has the time to work with him and be the alpha. Onyx is currently about 80 lb and fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is heartworm negative, and kept on heartworm and flea preventative. He lives with 10 foster doggie siblings, and does well with them. He has not lived with kids in our care, so we do not know how he is going to be. We do not allow rotties to go to homes with children. Sweet Onyx is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. Rottweiler experience is mandatory to adopt our breed specific pups. To meet this gorgeous pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.

Story
Suki is a 3 year old Rottie mix girl who is a dream. Suki was found as a stray, living in an apartment complex, and eating from a supermarket next door. Our team member saw her and had to trap her as she was too intelligent and would not come to humans on her own. She was so easy to trap, that it felt as if she wanted to be rescued. Suki lives with her foster parents' Belgian malinois Emma (you can see the video of them at the beach) and loves to follow her around. They live very close to the beach and are there every morning. Her foster mom says she seems to be fascinated with birds - whether because she wants to eat them or just simply enjoys their song is yet to be determined Suki is extraordinarily smart and very affectionate and loving. When her foster parents leave for work, she takes one of their shoes to where she is laying down - she doesn’t chew it up, just puts it next to her and only one, not both. She is not a fan of crate but will comply if needed. A home with a fully fenced yard would be mandatory for her, as well as a family who can dedicate time, patience and love. Suki is currently about 86 lb and fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. She is kept on heartworm and flea preventative. She is great with dogs but has not lived with kids or cats in our care, so we do not know how she is going to be around children or cats. Sweet Suki is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. Rottweiler experience is mandatory to adopt our breed specific pups. Story
This beautiful soul has been on an incredible journey, enduring a challenging stay at the shelter, waiting and hoping for a loving forever home. Despite his stunning looks and heartwarming personality, Apollo remained overlooked for months. He's a dog who's seen the worst of it yet still holds onto hope and love. Finally liberated from the confines of the shelter, Apollo's enthusiasm for life knows no bounds. His heart is filled with joy, and he's ready to share that boundless affection with a family who sees the gem he truly is. Apollo's a big boy with an even bigger heart. He adores the company of other dogs and revels in playtime. However, he thrives on structure, guidance, and plenty of activity. Smart as a whip, Apollo's intelligence and quick learning skills will astound you. This sweet boy, at around 3 years old and weighing between 60-65lbs, deserves a home that matches his spirit—a place with experienced, loving humans who understand the needs of a larger dog like him. Living in Houston, Apollo has bravely battled heartworm, a common challenge in these parts. But fear not, Scout’s Honor is ensuring Apollo receives the best care. Whether you choose to adopt him now or after he's cleared, we'll continue covering his medical expenses, ensuring he gets the care he needs. He's a fighter and with your support, he'll come out stronger than ever. If your heart swells at the thought of giving Apollo the home he dreams of, please consider fostering or adopting him. Start the journey by filling out an application at www.scoutshonor.org. Your love and compassion could be the key to unlocking Apollo's happily ever after.
