Story
Ozzy is 5 years old, is very timid and shy but loves kids. He takes a bit to warm up to adults, but once he does he is a loving companion. He loves to play and loves balls not just tennis balls but any kind of ball. He loves to work for treats and knows your simple commands. He loves to play fetch but won’t bring the toy back lol toys are his favorite but they won’t last long! Bullet is 4 years old, is extremely playful and feels like he is your average lap dog. He would prefer to sit on your lap than on your side lol. He loves attention he will walk over and with his nose lift your hand to put it on his head. He doesn’t care too much for toys but will play with you if you are willing to play with him. If not he’ll leave the toy alone. Bullet is good with kids too. He agrees to petting but then gets a little scared and will run off when he's had enough. These boys have been together since Bullet was a puppy and would love the opportunity to remain together.

Story
Meet Chili Dog! This sweet girl will steal your heart! After a rough start in life, Chili is healing and thriving! Chili is full of kisses, cuddles, and tail wags! She loves people, going on walks, running around outside, and car rides. Chili is great in the car! Even though she loves to be active, Chili is also content to lounge around inside. When her foster parents work from home, she's happy to lay on her dog bed near by their desk. Chili is getting better on the leash and responds to commands such as: sit, stay, and come. She is "treat motivated and seems to get with responding to commands daily. Chili is wonderfully fully potty-trained. Her foster parents are happy to report she's never once had an accident. Chili is also crate trained. She responds quickly when told to go in the crate, although she would rather just lounge on the bed. Chili does well with other dogs she has met. She loves to play and would likely do well with another active companion dog but she would also do well as an only dog. We do not know if Chili has been around kids, although when walked past a playground, she excitedly watches the children and wags her tail. Chili does not like cats and would do best in a home without them. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Billie is a beautiful, strong, and spirited Rottweiler who has been a part of my life for nearly three wonderful years. She has an undeniable presence and a heart that’s full of love, waiting to share it with the right person or family. Billie came to me as a rescue, and while her past is a bit of a mystery, her resilience and loyalty are nothing short of inspiring. She has a big appetite and an even bigger love for long walks, where she shines the brightest. Watching her explore the world with curiosity and joy has been one of the most rewarding parts of having her in my life. That said, Billie is a protector at heart. She values her space and takes time to trust new people. But once you earn her trust, she’ll be your most steadfast and loyal friend—a bond that words can hardly describe. She’s not just a dog; she’s a guardian, a companion, and a soul that craves understanding and patience. I’m looking for someone who can offer Billie the love, structure, and time she deserves.

Story
Meet Jarrod!Jarrod was found in a park with his dog sibling, Victoria (who has since been adopted), and a heartbreaking note from their previous owner. The note explained that due to hard times and the loss of their home, their owner could no longer care for them but hoped these loving dogs would find safe, happy homes. What Makes Jarrod Special:Jarrod’s volunteer friend describes him as the ultimate lovebug. “You can tell how much he was cherished by how deeply he loves. Every time you look at him or move a muscle, he flops over for a belly rub or leans in for a hug.” Jarrod’s face lights up the moment he sees a familiar person, and he spends his time eager to please—and succeeds at it!Recently, a volunteer took Jarrod to a local park for an outing. He was calm and relaxed, spending the day lounging on a picnic blanket. Jarrod didn’t react to passing people or pets, instead soaking up love and sneaking in a nap. In the car, he was just as easygoing, first looking out the window and then snoozing peacefully.Jarrod’s Favorite Things: Belly rubs and cuddles (his love language is affection!); Going for walks and enjoying the outdoors; Relaxing car rides; Chew toys and occasional bursts of playfulness. What Jarrod Needs: Jarrod is housetrained and knows basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “calm down.” He’s quick to learn new tricks, especially when treats or praise are involved. While he’s always eager for snack, he’s still catching up after being underweight.Jarrod could live with an older, dog-savvy kid and potentially with a well-matched dog (a meet-and-greet can be scheduled by emailing Animal.Behavior@austintexas.gov). He’s very stressed in the shelter environment and misses the comforts of home, but his sweet and gentle nature shines through. Can You Help Jarrod?Jarrod is available for foster or adoption. His shelter friends can’t wait to introduce you to this wonderful boy—and they’d love to hear updates once he’s settled. If you’re looking for a loving companion who gives back tenfold, Jarrod is ready to be your best friend. Can you give him the soft landing he deserves?
