Story
Beeg is a super sweet Rottie type. He may have some black and tan coon hound. We found him running in the pastures near our farm with some Barb wire marks from going under fences. He had joined up with 2 other stray/abandoned dogs. As soon as we fed him he has become totally attached. He is friendly to people who visit our farm. He plays well and is sweet with other dogs and does not challenge our older dominant dog. Unfortunately he has tested positive for Heart worm. As he is only between 1 and 2 years we are starting topical treatment and expect him to be rid pf them in a few months. He is an energetic dog and does not appear to be affected by this condition.

Story
Billie is a beautiful, strong, and spirited Rottweiler who has been a part of my life for nearly three wonderful years. She has an undeniable presence and a heart that’s full of love, waiting to share it with the right person or family. Billie came to me as a rescue, and while her past is a bit of a mystery, her resilience and loyalty are nothing short of inspiring. She has a big appetite and an even bigger love for long walks, where she shines the brightest. Watching her explore the world with curiosity and joy has been one of the most rewarding parts of having her in my life. That said, Billie is a protector at heart. She values her space and takes time to trust new people. But once you earn her trust, she’ll be your most steadfast and loyal friend—a bond that words can hardly describe. She’s not just a dog; she’s a guardian, a companion, and a soul that craves understanding and patience. I’m looking for someone who can offer Billie the love, structure, and time she deserves.

Story
We are moving internationally to Europe and are looking to rehome our beloved dog Matcha. She is extremely loving, charismatic, and overall a great dog. She has lived with two different cats and got along with both of them just fine and liked to play with them as well. She is almost 4 years old. She can be a little shy with other dogs at first, but really opens up pretty quickly and loves to play and chase. She is kennel trained, understands basic commands, and loves to go on walks or to the park. It is really bittersweet to have to potentially give her up as we have become very attached, but the costs to get her to Europe are seeming to be extremely high, and we're concerned about the stress this would put her through as well.

Story
Meet Jarrod!Jarrod was found in a park with his dog sibling, Victoria (who has since been adopted), and a heartbreaking note from their previous owner. The note explained that due to hard times and the loss of their home, their owner could no longer care for them but hoped these loving dogs would find safe, happy homes. What Makes Jarrod Special:Jarrod’s volunteer friend describes him as the ultimate lovebug. “You can tell how much he was cherished by how deeply he loves. Every time you look at him or move a muscle, he flops over for a belly rub or leans in for a hug.” Jarrod’s face lights up the moment he sees a familiar person, and he spends his time eager to please—and succeeds at it!Recently, a volunteer took Jarrod to a local park for an outing. He was calm and relaxed, spending the day lounging on a picnic blanket. Jarrod didn’t react to passing people or pets, instead soaking up love and sneaking in a nap. In the car, he was just as easygoing, first looking out the window and then snoozing peacefully.Jarrod’s Favorite Things: Belly rubs and cuddles (his love language is affection!); Going for walks and enjoying the outdoors; Relaxing car rides; Chew toys and occasional bursts of playfulness. What Jarrod Needs: Jarrod is housetrained and knows basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “calm down.” He’s quick to learn new tricks, especially when treats or praise are involved. While he’s always eager for snack, he’s still catching up after being underweight.Jarrod could live with an older, dog-savvy kid and potentially with a well-matched dog (a meet-and-greet can be scheduled by emailing Animal.Behavior@austintexas.gov). He’s very stressed in the shelter environment and misses the comforts of home, but his sweet and gentle nature shines through. Can You Help Jarrod?Jarrod is available for foster or adoption. His shelter friends can’t wait to introduce you to this wonderful boy—and they’d love to hear updates once he’s settled. If you’re looking for a loving companion who gives back tenfold, Jarrod is ready to be your best friend. Can you give him the soft landing he deserves?
