Story
Melanie was born on 4-28-23, potential rotti/lab mix. Sweet girl and good with kids. WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $ covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap so thank you for your understanding and helping us save as many as possible. Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.

Story
Meet Polly *Waived Adoption Fee Polly was found back in May of 2022 in the middle of a busy highway, eating a cardboard moving box in the rain. She was emaciated, her eyes were badly infected, and her hair was patchy... where she had hair it was very thin and badly damaged. However, she was as sweet as pie and just wanted love and food. During her recovery, she blew out her coat and now has a luscious thick coat that anyone would love. Polly has had a very hard life so far, but you would never know it with her sweetheart attitude. She is happy to follow you around and has good off-leash manners. She has become accustomed to her routine in her foster home. She is very smart and is house and crate-trained. She does well on the leash and has obedience training. She is also quiet and will let you know when she needs to go potty with a single bark. Polly would be happy to spend all of her time with you, relaxing. Due to Polly’s difficult life up until this point, we think she would be best in a only-dog home. Polly does have aches and pains at times due to arthritis. It is manageable with joint supplements and carprofen on select bad days. For this reason we do recommend a child free home although she's been amazing with kids. She should go to an experienced owner who understands her breed and her health limitations. As her back can hurt, she understandably needs a break, especially if she is very active that day. She does not like people in her face. Polly is a very loving and intelligent dog. She will go to her crate when she needs a break but loves to be loved. Please consider giving Polly the wonderful home that she truly deserves.

Story
Meet Beau.  This sweet, handsome boy was recently returned to rescue after over two years in a home. His owner felt he had anxiety and couldn't provide the attention he needed. Beau does have some separation anxiety because he love to be with his person.  Exercise seems to help him expel some of his energy.  Beau will love you and be your best friend. Please visit www.hfhelpnokillrescue.com to fill out an application for Beau. ##223421##
