Very sweet and just wants to be around you! Extremely playful and absolutely loves tug of war and snuggling with his stuffed animals! Belly rubs and head scratches make his day and he can't get enough! He is very quiet and does not bark. Very good with all adults/older teens. Should not be in a home with kids. Tends to try to display dominance around kids, but has never done anything aggressive towards anyone. Re-homing due to lack of both indoor and outdoor space and drastically decreased time at home. Rollo also loves running outside and is very good with other kinds of animals! He does not get along very well with other dogs, but is great with cats, rabbits, and other smaller animals. He can't wait to meet his new people!

Story
Meet Kaylee! This sweet girl was brought to us with her 5 puppies, Brock, Bravo, Brax, Brigg, and Britt. Fill out an application to give this Rottweiler mix a furever home! To meet one of our adoptable pets or to start the adoption process, please access the adoption application on our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org or download and email it to crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com. We will then approve you (sending in the application does not obligate you to adopt) and we can set up a time for you to meet one or more of our pets. You can then pay the adoption fee and officially adopt after meeting your new family member. Alternatively, you can do the adoption over the phone before meeting your new pet. The benefit to this is that we will hold the pet for you. However, the adoption fee is non-refundable if you changed your mind after adopting over the phone. Most of our pets are obtained from animal control and therefore we are not certain of their breed or breed mix. We list breed mixes that they most resemble or that their former owners said they were. However, we don't make any guarantees about breed - it is a best guess! Our adoption fees include the spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vet exam, and up to date vaccines. It also includes microchipping as well as heartworm testing or feline leukemia testing. We are happy to adopt out-of-state (and even out of the country!) but transportation for the adopted pet is the responsibility of the new pet owner. If you cannot adopt a pet at this time but would like to support our rescue, please click on the "Sponsor a Pet" button. Your donation will help feed the dogs, cats, small animals, and horses at CARE. Please email at crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com or call us at (864)972-9906 for more information. This phone number will reach Crossroads Animal Hospital, which is the home of CARE. During business hours, a receptionist will be able to speak with you regarding our adoptable pets. After business hours, the only way to contact CARE is via email. Our puppies and kittens are also eligible for 10% off the rest of the vaccines in their puppy/kitten vaccination series at Crossroads Animal Hospital. Most adult pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Puppies and kittens may have the surgery before adoption or we may have new owners return later for the surgery. For more information about CARE and to see our adoption application, go to our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org

Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website.  Contact 513-292-4990 or email at vpofh592@gmail.com for more information or to adopt the pet.Rome is an 8-year-old Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix.  I have had him since he was 6 weeks old. He was raised in Ohio, then moved to Tennessee, Indiana, Tennessee again, and now to North Carolina. He adapts very well to his environment. Rome was raised with a female Pit bull, 2 cats and 3 ducks (that were raised in the house until they were full grown).  He loved the ducks and was very protective of them.  They were outside together all the time.  During the winter the ducks lived in heated igloo dog houses and Rome would stick his head inside to check on them.Rome loves playing with balls of any size, even basket balls. Fetch is his favorite game, either with a ball or his blue squeaky pig. Part of the games is getting him to let you have the toy back. Usually by telling him “out” or “leave it”.He sleeps in his own bed, but prefers to sleep with me or on the sofa. Rome is afraid of fire works and lighting & thunder, so be assured during these events he’ll want to sleep with you.Rome knows how to sit on command, speak and give you his right paw.  When you say other one, he’ll give you his left paw. He will sit and catch treats or a ball thrown to him, and if you throw his ball so it will bounce, he will catch it in mid air. He knows “Get in your bed” as well. If you are walking him on a leash and he goes around a pole or something I tell him “go around”.Rome will let you know when he has to go potty by whining at the door.  I usually let him out every 4 to 5 hours. I always give him a treat when he comes in. I call it a cookie.  He loves being outside and spends hours in the back yard that is fenced in. If he see a rabbit or squirrel he will take off after it. In the Summer time, it’s hard to get him to come inside unless it’s really hot.I discovered that Rome does not get along with other males dogs, especially if they aren’t neutered. I am engaged and Rome does not get along with my boyfriend’s male Australian shepherd or the horses. This is why I need to rehome Rome.  We have to keep them separated at all times.Rome’s ideal home would need to have a fenced in yard with a patio or trees so he can get out of the sun. To be the ONLY dog in the family, and to have a human to play with. He has been around children aged from about 7 years old and up and loves them!!Rome does have an injured foot that is almost healed. I still keep a wrap on it so he won’t lick it.Rome is up to date on ALL his shots and gets heartworm medication on the 18th of every month. He weighs 90 lbs. but still thinks he’s a lap dog sometimes. He loves “going for a ride” with the back passenger side window down. Rome will bark at dogs, cows, etc. when in the car. He also likes going inside of Lowe’s and Tractor Supply. I have been taking him to work with me for the past 2 years, and he loves greeting everybody. Rome will bark at everyone, but that’s because he wants them to pet him. Once the person pets him, Rome will go lay down. Two things Rome hates are vacuums and weed eaters. He will try and bite them. The best way to contact me is via cell phone at 513-292-4990 or email at vpofh592@gmail.com. You are welcome to come and meet Rome at work in Weaverville, or in Alexander, NC where we live. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. March 11, 2025, 12:52 pm
