Story
I’m Graham, a handsome senior Rottweiler who would love to have a comfortable forever home for my golden years.I was abandoned at the vet next to the Humane Society of York County, tied to a pole with a note that said my owners could no longer care for me. My birth date is estimated to be January 2014.I’m a happy, easy-going fellow who loves treats, stuffy toys, belly rubs and lounging around. I’m a very chill boy, but I do enjoy my daily walks (at my mellow pace) and I’m an excellent leash walker. If you know much about Rotties, you know we’re loving, loyal and smart. And that’s me in a nutshell!I prefer to be the only pet in my forever home, and would do best in a family without small children. My ideal home would be calm and quiet to match my personality. I’m a gentle boy, but big and strong, about 65 pounds.I would be a perfect fit for someone who wants a cuddle buddy and couch potato. Especially if they’re generous with those belly rubs!If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.

Story
Meet Reggie — Gentle Soul with a Heart of GoldSweet, gentle senior who deserves a soft place to land, enjoy some TLC, and the comfy life he deserves! Age is just a number! Reggie is as playful and happy as any dog, but with the benefit of maturity. He is already potty trained, calm in the house, gentle with humans, and friendly to other dogs, kids, and even cats! He could easily adapt to a variety of lifestyles, but he would thrive in a home with people who want to take him along for their fun and would love a loyal companion who`s happiest by their side. Easy to leash and a calm, pleasant walking companionPlayful in the yard with a light, joyful spiritTreat-motivated and knows how to “sit,” not mouthy and easy to be around. Reggie checks in and is attentive to his person during walks and loves to enjoy all the sniffs. Reggie is calm and friendly towards other dogs, both seeing new dogs on walks and with resident dogs in a foster home. Slow intros and the time/space to get to know each other are always recommended when introducing new dogs to each other. Reggie didn`t chase two resident cats during a foster weekend, and even ended up happily sleeping on the bed with them and the humans!   Reggie is ready to get settled in a forever home! Despite his circumstances, he remains kind, trusting, and resilient. He LOVES to cuddle and be with his people. With the stress of life changes, he may be a little anxious when he first gets to his new home, but he is able to get used to the new environment and relax with support from his people. (Example: Reggie was demonstrably anxious when first getting to a weekend foster/new place on a Friday, but by Sunday morning he owned the place!) If you`re ready for a devoted best friend of a dog, who gazes at you as if you hung the moon, Reggie is your man!

Story
Callie is a sweet, mellow girl looking for a loving home with space to roam. She thrives best in a home with a large, secure yard—she can easily clear a 4-foot fence and loves to explore, so taller fencing is a must. She’s an outdoor enthusiast at heart:    •   Loves to swim    •   Can’t resist chasing anything that flies 🐦🦋    •   Enjoys being active but also has a calm, relaxed side At home, Callie is:    •   Pretty mellow and easygoing    •   Crate-trained and sleeps peacefully in her crate at night    •   A strong chewer who needs indestructible chew toys Callie has completed professional training, but in a busy household with multiple dogs she struggles to stay focused and ends up losing progress.. She would do best in a very structured, low-distraction environment. We want Callie to have the space, attention, and environment she needs to truly thrive. She has so much affection to give and and will be an amazing companion in the right home.
