Rocky seems to be potty trained and loves to lay with his friends and relax. Rocky does have some medical needs that will have to be discussed with adopters prior to adoption. Just like the classic debate- Left Twix versus Right Twix... both sides together ARE THE BEST!!! I am the same way, I am sweet on one side and salty on the other- together we are perfect! I have a tale to tell, however, none of it matters anymore because I am here right now to tell you- the best is yet to come! I am a big love bug, and although I can be nervous at first- I settle in quickly to be just a big couch potato! I am good with other dogs and would love to have a friend for life in my forever home. I am good with calm older dogs, not much for puppy energy all.the.time... :) I love kids, and would be great with school aged/teenagers (and not many others LIKE teenagers so I can be their buddy :) and would be good in a calmer/quieter home. I want so much to please my family and will look to you for love and attention. I also need a strong leadership family- I have tried to take over control in my first adoptive home and it was not appreciated. SO, you need to be my boss, it's not hard- just let me know you are someone I can trust to keep me safe and take EXCELLENT care of me- with love and more love and I will LET you be in control. Well, HOWDY!!! I still can't believe i am IN TEXAS!! My story may be a little convoluted but suffice it to say... the OK Corral has nothing on me! I was not fighting the outlaws.. i was not fighting at all! I was just trying to figure out why I was saved and in a wonderful rescuers home.... then... back into a high kill shelter?? UNTIL, I was saved by ANOTHER rescuer and was transported from Louisiana to TEXAS and here I am! I LOVE everyone, I want a home that will walk me a couple of times a day and then chill out with me on their couch :) I don't have a whole bunch of energy but that is PERFECT for a lower energy home. I came to the rescue with heart worms but am going to complete my treatment by Christmas!! What a gift that will be! I am now looking for my family, someone who will love me for who I am.. a little low rider, kinda chunky but as loving as the day is long! ADOPT ME!!! Story
We got Shiloh in 2021 from a Rottweiler breeder in Ohio as a family dog. Last December I became the owner of her, but I find myself too busy with work to care for her without assistance from other family members. Also having a desire to move closer to work, many places don't allow Rottweilers, so I need to find her a new home. Shiloh is about 3 and half years old, and is a happy, friendly, and super energetic girl. She's been great with kids! She's also comfortable around cats once used to them, and doesn't bother them. She doesn't have much experience with other dogs, just our neighbors. She's very playful with our neighbors German Shephard and Beagle, but she does not seem to like dogs bigger than her.

"Mr. Photogenic" was transported from an overcrowded WV shelter. All 43 lbs. of "happy" is ready to welcome visitors so he can show his stuff. Estimated to be 4 years old, Alex is a medium size dog in the prime of his life who walks nicely on leash. From those who observed him at his previous shelter, Alex, it was said was good with kids. However an introduction to some very young kids did not turn out to be the best fit. Alex needs time to warm up to new people so it may be that Alex would do best with older, easier to redirect kids who will give Alex his space, but an adult only home is the ideal placement. It was also observed that Alex gets along with several other dogs and has shown no reaction to cats. Interested in a doggie playmate, Alex does a lovely play bow to initiate fun with other dogs. Setting up a meet with an approved applicant’s dog would be required.

Bruno is a 4 year old altered male. He was brought to us as a stray. Bruno had some skin issues when he came in, since then he has been on some medication and has improved tremendously. He is very shy and will take some time to warm up to you. We fill that Bruno would do best being the only pet in the home and with kids 13 and older.

Rooster is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is a healthy and happy boy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to the Pittsburgh area. Rooster resides with our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted.
