Story
River is a 7 month old Rottweiler Lab mix currently weighing 45 pounds. He is neutered, house trained, and crate trained. He knows all basic commands (sit, stay, come, fetch, lay down, etc.) He currently sleeps in his crate throughout the night and does very well. He does good on a leash. He loves car rides, the outdoors, soaking up sunshine, playing fetch, sleeping, and especially toys! He will try to carry 3 toys at once. He does not like anybody in his vicinity while he’s eating, doesn’t enjoy baths very much, and doesn’t like small dogs. He’s had one interaction with a cat and didn’t react, but unsure how he would be living with one. He would be best living with larger breeds, no small animals, children 10 years or older, and a fenced in yard to run freely. He is super adorable and a very smart puppy! He learns new tricks and commands very quickly. If River sounds like a perfect fit for you, please fill out an application today! www.charliescrusaders.org CURRENT LOCATION: Foster Care in Windsor, PA 17366 Kennel License #17584 ##2050756##

Story
Meet Toby: Toby is about a 1 year old (as of February 2025) Rottweiler mix that weighs about 90 pounds. Toby came wandering out of the woods in Pennsylvania near a volunteer's home. They tried to find his owners but no one came forward. Toby is currently in a foster home in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area. Toby is a super friendly boy and likes to snuggle up. Toby loves playing fetch with balls and toys. Toby did awesome on a hike with a leash. Toby has been really great with a 10 year old boy and 12 year old girl that he has been around. Toby likes other dogs. Toby is a big boy and wants to play with other dogs, but they can sometimes get intimidated. Toby is not aggressive at all and he doesn’t growl, but he jumps up and is overly eager to play with doggie playmates, so he will need an appropriate matched playmate. Toby loves to snuggle and get belly rubs. Toby is a smart pup - he can sit, lay down and stay on command. Toby will need a home with a fenced in yard for him to run and play freely. Toby is getting up to date on his shots and has an appointment to be neutered. If you are interested in giving this big bubba a great home, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. CURRENT LOCATION: Newmanstown, PA 17073 Kennel License #17584 ##2310625##

Born January 1, 2024 Our Sadie is my daughter’s dog, who she promised she would take care of, and she hasn’t, and she’s leaving earlier for college than we initially thought, starting in a few weeks. Sadie loves to play with our pointer, who is a big lug, but she loves Rocky. Bernese Mountain Dogs are one of the best friends a person could have, especially for children.

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.1/20/25 Currently located in PA in one of our foster homes. Millie originally can't into rescue a little over a year ago, after a domestic violence situation left her homeless. Her home included a baby and a couple of very young kids which she loved dearly. We specifically wanted a home with kids for her at that time. She was adopted 9-10 months ago, to a family with a 14 yr old son. We were under the impression that everything was going great, until today. We don't know the circumstances, but Millie bit the 14 yr old. It was a very minor bite. No medical attention was needed. But now the son is scared of her and threatening to go live with the other parent if Millie stays in the home. Her adopter says that she has always been tense around the son. We do know that she is more comfortable around women, and she may suffered some abuse from the 'dad' in her original home. Millie is very cuddly and affectionate. She is excellent with other dogs and cats. Please help us keep her out of the shelter. She needs a home, or a foster home, right away. Due to this incident, we would like to see her go to a home with out children. But may be open to a meet n greet with a family that includes, to see how she responds to them. It seems that she likes young kids, and i would assume that if she meets the kids while young, she will be fine with them as they grow into big kids. This will just need to be determined on a case by case basis. Millie has been through a lot in her 4 years of life. She needs an understanding family who will accept her and pay attention to any cues she may give when she's uncomfortable. She is located in PA but we may be able to find a volunteer transport to help her get to other locations. Please share. She is very urgent. email apps.aasr@gmail.com for more info.
