Story
Zoe is a big, lean girl and is about 70 pounds. She will be 3 years old this August. She came to me via a shelter in LA, where she had been for 400 days, more than half of her young life. She was surrendered to them when she was 6 months old. She is a lover and very sweet, and thinks she’s a lap dog. It may take her a short time for her to warm up, as she is quite shy and will be skittish with new people. She seems to warm up to women more quickly than men. She is still a little hesistant of new surrounds but she is OPEN to it. It takes her a little time but she does warm up to new surroundings and new people. She got to meet a new dog today and although she was a little weary in the beginning, she did want to investigate more after a few minutes and she did great! Just imagine being stuck in the same place for your whole life and suddenly being thrown into a new gigantic environment. It is super stressful. I'd say Zoe Bear is killin it! She loves her little ducky and doing zoomies in the yard. She walks pretty well on a leash and has been working with our lovely trainer Shannon at DoggyTech to master it! She is a rough play-er so being in a home with dogs her size would be best. She is a super lover so once she gets used to you, she will lick you to pieces! She likes men, but again, it might take her a minute to get used to them. She is potty trained, vaccinated, and ready to start her furever!

Story
Penny is the epitome of an adventure buddy meets family girl. Penny Piper is a fun-loving girl with a gentle love of kids and people and a big playful love for toys and water. At home, she’s a sweet and affectionate companion who will happily sit in front of you for cuddles or cozy up on the couch when invited. Out in the yard or on an adventure, Penny’s playful spirit shines, especially when there is a toy or water involved—she’s is too cute and I can only imagine the cuteness overload if they were combined. Take a look at her Get-to- know Penny video here then come back to read more! https://youtu.be/ezr3U40Rbp4 Penny has been so fortunate to wait out her days before adoption in a dedicated and bustling foster home complete with a 5 and 2 year old, regular guests, other dogs and a cat. Her foster family has shared that she is incredibly mindful and gentle with the kids and is both crate and house trained. She welcomes guest into the home with a warn and friendly energy. Penny also lives with a cat but the cat is very good at hiding from the dog so she has had only a few interactions. When she met our house cat, a very dog-savvy stand-your-ground type of orange kitty, she showed a keen interest and we suspect, would likely try to playfully chase a cat in the home. That would likely fade but she would do best in a home where proper introductions can be made. Another dog would also help keep her playful love of chase satisfied and would help keep her focus off the feline-friend. Penny’s social butterfly personality is not only with people, she absolutely adores other dogs and is quick to show her playful side. Penny thrives in the company of a moderately playful dog who can match her enthusiasm for digging in the pool and a good game of chase. Penny is all-in for the fun! She’s a fairly active pup at an est. 1 year old, and she would thrive with an equally active human. If you’re into hikes, waterfront adventures, or backyard games, Penny is your girl! At 52 lbs fully grown, she is a perfect mid-size girl who can hop right int the car at the call of an adventure. She has basic leash skills and is continuing to work on them while she waits for her forever family. Once she arrives home, a little practice will be great for you and her to connect. She is guaranteed to be a great walking and hiking buddy. Penny would do best in a home with a yard where she can stretch her legs and let off steam, kids are welcome and even better if they want a dog they can play with. We can see Penny becoming a beloved member of a family and building beautiful memories together.i Penny is ready to fill your home with joy and laughter. Story
Meet Robert, the calm and easygoing dog who’s ready to find his forever home! At 6 years old, Robert may be a grown-up, but you’d never know it from his adorable puppy face—he never quite grew out of that youthful charm. He’s the perfect mix of laid-back and friendly, making him an ideal companion for anyone looking for a chill buddy to share life with. Robert is a breeze to walk on a leash, needing only slight corrections when passing other dogs. He’s friendly and always eager to greet new people, though he’s more of a relaxed companion who values his space. While Robert isn’t overly affectionate, he’s loyal and will be there when you need a quiet, comforting presence. He’d thrive in a calm family home, especially one with older kids who respect his need for personal space. Robert gets along well with female dogs, whether they’re dominant or laid-back, and would do best with a low-energy buddy who can match his mellow vibe. Robert isn’t a fan of cats, so a feline-free home is a must. Whether you live in a house or an apartment, Robert will adapt beautifully. He’s perfect for someone who wants a companion that’s content to hang out, enjoy some quiet time, and occasionally give you that adorable puppy-eyed look that will melt your heart. Give Robert the chance to show you how wonderful a loyal, easygoing friend can be! Story
Mars- fourth planet? Candy bar? Even better… a certified good boy who is reddish like the planet and sweet like the candy bar. This boy is so sweet with a playful side and a loving heart. He is so fortunate to be fostered in a loving home which is not only wonderful for him but gives us a front-row seat to his personality. Being in a home has allowed us to know he is house trained, is great at apartment life (but would love a yard if were talking forever) is smart and treat motivated. See more here then come back to read more. https://youtu.be/0iik1GRJTTI Estimated to be just over a year old, Mars is prime age for building all of his best boy skills and he is off to a great start. He has great basic leash skills and enjoys walks with his foster mom and foster doggie sibling, a large German shepherd. Mars spends time in-between naps and walks playing with his doggie sibling. He is a great playmate and we saw that when we introduced him to a handful of new dogs. With each dog he was polite and playful without being pushy. He truly lights up when he is meeting a new dog and is a great playmate. He would love a home with a playful, out-going dog to play chase and bounce around with. With people Mars takes it slow, he is friendly and warm but isn’t the dog that is going go 90% to meet you and next thing you know be kissing you. He is more than happy to get to know you before making the first move and going in for the kiss. This may translate into him needing a little time to settle in once he arrives home. Overall a calm home would suit him best. No party boy here despite his love of a good time. Mars is what we would call- cat curious. When he met our house cat he was polite but curious and his interest was definitely peaked. He may be the type to start a game of chase in order to meet the cat but with boundaries and slow-introductions we believe he would learn that they do not enjoy playing chase. A dog-savvy cat that will give him a swat if necessary would be clearly received by him. If you have a feline friend and are interested in Mars we are more than happy to reintroduce him to a cat(s) to get a better idea. Mars could easily be a family man, he has been introduced to kids and the natural fit has been with the older ones who enjoy his company without expectation. He is patient but enjoys his space and we all know the littles are still learning about space. This boy strikes a great balance between playtime and relaxation. He enjoys running around having fun but knows how to take it easy too, the best type. Mars is full of potential and ready to become the loyal, loving companion you’ve been searching for. With time, care, and the right environment, he’ll blossom into a confident and affectionate member of your family. Eyes set on Mars? Story
Howdy partners! I'm Rocky, the sweetest meatball in the Wild West! I started my journey at Animal Aid after my previous family had a baby who was very allergic to me. The transition has been a little... Rocky ... but I've proven myself to be the most loving, goofy partner in crime to the new people in my life. My nervousness around strangers can easily be worked through with patience, yummy treats, and a good head scratch. Don't be surprised if I sound the alarm when danger approaches our home! I haven't spent a ton of time with other dogs, but I never seem to mind being in the same space as them. I ignore them and mind my own business. I'm sure I could get along with a canine sibling if introduced slowly. I've shown an interest in chasing the neighborhood cats outside, so a cat free home is probably ideal. Older, respectful kids are also totally in my social wheelhouse. I love to play and cuddle with my favorite people - just be prepared for a tank in your lap. I'm looking for a home with either a fenced yard or a very quiet neighborhood. I'm still working through my fear of all the sights and sounds that I encounter on leashed walks outside of my comfort zone. A personal yard to zoom and play would be perfect for keeping me in the best mental and physical shape. Because I may take a bit to warm up to a new environment and routine, the Animal Aid team is happy to provide a foster-to-adopt arrangement and cover initial training resources to make sure I have the best chance of success! I'm in a foster home so please fill out an adoption application at www.animalaidpdx.org to meet me.My estimated birthdate is 9/1/2020. 75lbs.
