Hi there, I am Chloe, I am between 15mths-2yrs, spayed female, my DNA test says 60% Rottweiler and 5 other breeds that make me the best dog ever. I am a social butterfly and I just got done raising my 5 puppies, they all went to their new homes and now I am looking for mine. I love all humans and almost all dogs, I don't like dogs who bark in my face, I will hide and avoid, but I do love dogs who are calm or understand other dogs. I would love a home where we can go on adventurers, where I can have cool toys and be a apart of the family. I know tons of commands, I am eager to learn, I love getting cuddles and affection. The shelter team wants you to understand they love me very much, they think I am the best dog and I was a wonderful mom, who raised 5 strong, independent confident puppies, just like me!! My adoption fee is $250, includes spay, microchip, vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment and 1pound bag of food. 1. Do you have a privately fenced yard? 2. How many humans and ages live in your home? 3. How many animals and types? 4. Do you have time for daily walks or jogs? 5. Are you active, hiking etc? 6. Do you have the time for training? 7. Do you have the time to give her hugs and kisses? 8. Have you ever owned a Rottweiler mix, before, if so please tell us about them.

Story
Ozzy is sponsored by River and Ben.Hi, I'm Ozzy! I'm an independent, curious, smart, playful, energetic, cuddly, loyal, friendly, goofy, funny big boy. How did I end up here, you ask? Well, let's just say I thought I could outsmart a squirrel. Turns out, squirrels are a lot smarter than they look. Who knew they could operate garage door openers? Anyway, I ended up in this place they call a 'shelter'. But don't worry about me, I'm just fine. I've got plenty of energy to keep everyone here on their toes. If you're looking for a dog who's as loyal as he is playful, and as smart as he is goofy, then I'm your guy. I promise to keep you laughing with my funny antics and to always be there for a cuddle when you need one. Adopt me, and let's start our adventure together! If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm (Winter hours). If you'd like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets' profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Story
MEET RED! Red is a 1-1/2-year old loving and highly intelligent dog in need of a forever home! He is currently in a foster home. Red is great mix of smart and loyal breeds. He is part German Shepherd and Rottweiler, with a few other breeds like Border Collie and Australian Shepherd thrown in. (We did a DNA test - we're happy to share it!). Red is such a great dog in many ways: He is dog friendly, kid friendly and active. He is eager to learn, and will be excited to continue his training with a human companion. (He currently went through obedience training!). He does well off leash on walks in the country, and has wonderful recall. Once he knows you, he does not run off. He is constantly looking for fun things to chase but will look to you for permission and “leave it” when told. Red is also praise motivated and a fast learner. He gets along well with other dogs (loves dog parks!) but needs some gentle correction when he first meets friends because he excites easily at play time. He loves to romp with similar energy dogs, and he would thrive in a pack. He has a strong prey drive, but with proper instruction he has left the cat alone in his current foster home. He is always looking to his person for guidance and commands. Red is also great with all people once he has been slowly introduced to them as his desire to guard his family comes naturally to him. He is not toy or food aggressive, and is crate trained. He loves going for car rides and can be left alone while running errands (he does get car sick now and then). For long trips he may need medication until he hopefully grows out of it. He gets bored easily, should not be left outside in the yard unattended and would do best with someone who works from home or is retired, and who can give him the exercise and stimulation he needs. At the end of the day, Red enjoys lying by your feet or next to you on a couch. He is a snuggler and wants to be close to his people. He's such an awesome dog and companion. If you are looking for a sweet, loyal and active dog and are excited to continue to be his partner in training, Red would be perfect for you. He weighs 70 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
Howdy partners! I'm Rocky, the sweetest meatball in the Wild West! I started my journey at Animal Aid after my previous family had a baby who was very allergic to me. The transition has been a little... Rocky ... but I've proven myself to be the most loving, goofy partner in crime to the new people in my life. My nervousness around strangers can easily be worked through with patience, yummy treats, and a good head scratch. Don't be surprised if I sound the alarm when danger approaches our home! I haven't spent a ton of time with other dogs, but I never seem to mind being in the same space as them. I ignore them and mind my own business. I'm sure I could get along with a canine sibling if introduced slowly. I've shown an interest in chasing the neighborhood cats outside, so a cat free home is probably ideal. Older, respectful kids are also totally in my social wheelhouse. I love to play and cuddle with my favorite people - just be prepared for a tank in your lap. I'm looking for a home with either a fenced yard or a very quiet neighborhood. I'm still working through my fear of all the sights and sounds that I encounter on leashed walks outside of my comfort zone. A personal yard to zoom and play would be perfect for keeping me in the best mental and physical shape. Because I may take a bit to warm up to a new environment and routine, the Animal Aid team is happy to provide a foster-to-adopt arrangement and cover initial training resources to make sure I have the best chance of success! I'm in a foster home so please fill out an adoption application at www.animalaidpdx.org to meet me.My estimated birthdate is 9/1/2020. 75lbs.

Story
Penny is the epitome of an adventure buddy meets family girl. Penny Piper is a fun-loving girl with a gentle love of kids and people and a big playful love for toys and water. At home, she’s a sweet and affectionate companion who will happily sit in front of you for cuddles or cozy up on the couch when invited. Out in the yard or on an adventure, Penny’s playful spirit shines, especially when there is a toy or water involved—she’s is too cute and I can only imagine the cuteness overload if they were combined. Take a look at her Get-to- know Penny video here then come back to read more! https://youtu.be/ezr3U40Rbp4 Penny has been so fortunate to wait out her days before adoption in a dedicated and bustling foster home complete with a 5 and 2 year old, regular guests, other dogs and a cat. Her foster family has shared that she is incredibly mindful and gentle with the kids and is both crate and house trained. She welcomes guest into the home with a warn and friendly energy. Penny also lives with a cat but the cat is very good at hiding from the dog so she has had only a few interactions. When she met our house cat, a very dog-savvy stand-your-ground type of orange kitty, she showed a keen interest and we suspect, would likely try to playfully chase a cat in the home. That would likely fade but she would do best in a home where proper introductions can be made. Another dog would also help keep her playful love of chase satisfied and would help keep her focus off the feline-friend. Penny’s social butterfly personality is not only with people, she absolutely adores other dogs and is quick to show her playful side. Penny thrives in the company of a moderately playful dog who can match her enthusiasm for digging in the pool and a good game of chase. Penny is all-in for the fun! She’s a fairly active pup at an est. 1 year old, and she would thrive with an equally active human. If you’re into hikes, waterfront adventures, or backyard games, Penny is your girl! At 52 lbs fully grown, she is a perfect mid-size girl who can hop right int the car at the call of an adventure. She has basic leash skills and is continuing to work on them while she waits for her forever family. Once she arrives home, a little practice will be great for you and her to connect. She is guaranteed to be a great walking and hiking buddy. Penny would do best in a home with a yard where she can stretch her legs and let off steam, kids are welcome and even better if they want a dog they can play with. We can see Penny becoming a beloved member of a family and building beautiful memories together.i Penny is ready to fill your home with joy and laughter.
