This is a boy with all the love and happy-go-lucky fun anyone could ever want in a dog! His name is Dino and he just brings the most refreshing happiness with him. With the look of a Rottweiler, I need to be clear, this is not a Rottie size boy. He is bursting with love and fun but its all packed into a cute little mid-size package, currently weighing 55 lbs with a little more growing likely still ahead of him. Dino is estimated to be 8 months-1 year old, of course age and breed cannot be guaranteed given he is a rescue. He is a certified good boy though, we know that for a fact! We are torn on our observations leading us to him being a Rottweiler/ Lab mix or possibly a Doberman/Rottweiler mix. Whatever his make up is, it made the sweetest, friendliest boy! He is as sweet as they come. Dino’s friendly, accepting nature make him a joy to be around—he adores people and dogs alike and is always ready for his next adventure or a serious cuddle session. Dino’s playful spirit shined when we introduced him to other dogs. He is friendly and a bouncy, playful boy who also understood not all dogs like to bounce and play like him, and he could respect that.His friendly and happy-go-lucky playstyle makes him a great match for a household with another playful pup who will be happy to have met their match. Dino has shown that he’s great with dogs of all kinds but when he met our house cat he learned they are not as eager to make friends as he is. While he initially wanted to greet the cat with his signature playfulness, our house cat offered him a quick swipe to ask Dino to respect his space. Dino understood and respected the message. We would say Dino is cat-tolerant and with a dog-savvy cat, Dino could peacefully coexist. While Dino’s leash manners need a little polishing which will come with practice, he’s eager to please. He has the basics down and keeps a nice pace. Truly, you could take him on a walk now and be proud to have him by your side. Dino is incredibly affectionate and will charm you with his big, warm smile and brown eyes. He’s a lap dog at heart and has a signature move you will only see when you sit down, especially if you are on the ground. It is sort of a flop but also a melt. It is undeniable though, it is love! Penny is the epitome of an adventure buddy meets family girl. Penny Piper is a fun-loving girl with a gentle love of kids and people and a big playful love for toys and water. At home, she’s a sweet and affectionate companion who will happily sit in front of you for cuddles or cozy up on the couch when invited. Out in the yard or on an adventure, Penny’s playful spirit shines, especially when there is a toy or water involved—she’s is too cute and I can only imagine the cuteness overload if they were combined. Penny also lives with a cat but the cat is very good at hiding from the dog so she has had only a few interactions. When she met our house cat, a very dog-savvy stand-your-ground type of orange kitty, she showed a keen interest and we suspect, would likely try to playfully chase a cat in the home. That would likely fade but she would do best in a home where proper introductions can be made. Another dog would also help keep her playful love of chase satisfied and would help keep her focus off the feline-friend. Penny’s social butterfly personality is not only with people, she absolutely adores other dogs and is quick to show her playful side. Penny thrives in the company of a moderately playful dog who can match her enthusiasm for digging in the pool and a good game of chase. Penny is all-in for the fun! Howdy partners! I'm Rocky, the sweetest meatball in the Wild West! I started my journey at Animal Aid after my previous family had a baby who was very allergic to me. The transition has been a little... Rocky ... but I've proven myself to be the most loving, goofy partner in crime to the new people in my life. My nervousness around strangers can easily be worked through with patience, yummy treats, and a good head scratch. Don't be surprised if I sound the alarm when danger approaches our home! I haven't spent a ton of time with other dogs, but I never seem to mind being in the same space as them. I ignore them and mind my own business. I'm sure I could get along with a canine sibling if introduced slowly. I've shown an interest in chasing the neighborhood cats outside, so a cat free home is probably ideal. Older, respectful kids are also totally in my social wheelhouse. I'm looking for a home with either a fenced yard or a very quiet neighborhood. I'm still working through my fear of all the sights and sounds that I encounter on leashed walks outside of my comfort zone. A personal yard to zoom and play would be perfect for burning energy and those pesky extra pounds that I'm trying to lose. My foster parents say that I'm a total dream when left alone at home. Zoe is a big, lean girl and is about 70 pounds. She will be 3 years old this August. She came to me via a shelter in LA, where she had been for 400 days, more than half of her young life. She was surrendered to them when she was 6 months old. She is a lover and very sweet, and thinks she’s a lap dog. It may take her a short time for her to warm up, as she is quite shy and will be skittish with new people. She seems to warm up to women more quickly than men. She is still a little hesistant of new surrounds but she is OPEN to it. It takes her a little time but she does warm up to new surroundings and new people. She got to meet a new dog today and although she was a little weary in the beginning, she did want to investigate more after a few minutes and she did great! Just imagine being stuck in the same place for your whole life and suddenly being thrown into a new gigantic environment. It is super stressful. I'd say Zoe Bear is killin it! She loves her little ducky and doing zoomies in the yard. She walks pretty well on a leash and has been working with our lovely trainer Shannon at DoggyTech to master it! She is a rough play-er so being in a home with dogs her size would be best. She is a super lover so once she gets used to you, she will lick you to pieces! She likes men, but again, it might take her a minute to get used to them. She is potty trained, vaccinated, and ready to start her furever!

MEET RED! Red is a 1-1/2-year old loving and highly intelligent dog in need of a forever home! He is currently in a foster home. Red is great mix of smart and loyal breeds. He is part German Shepherd and Rottweiler, with a few other breeds like Border Collie and Australian Shepherd thrown in. (We did a DNA test - we're happy to share it!). Red is such a great dog in many ways: He is dog friendly, kid friendly and active. He is eager to learn, and will be excited to continue his training with a human companion. (He currently went through obedience training!). He does well off leash on walks in the country, and has wonderful recall. Once he knows you, he does not run off. He is constantly looking for fun things to chase but will look to you for permission and “leave it” when told. Red is also praise motivated and a fast learner. He gets along well with other dogs (loves dog parks!) but needs some gentle correction when he first meets friends because he excites easily at play time. He loves to romp with similar energy dogs, and he would thrive in a pack. He has a strong prey drive, but with proper instruction he has left the cat alone in his current foster home. He is always looking to his person for guidance and commands. Red is also great with all people once he has been slowly introduced to them as his desire to guard his family comes naturally to him. He is not toy or food aggressive, and is crate trained. He loves going for car rides and can be left alone while running errands (he does get car sick now and then). For long trips he may need medication until he hopefully grows out of it. He gets bored easily, should not be left outside in the yard unattended and would do best with someone who works from home or is retired, and who can give him the exercise and stimulation he needs. At the end of the day, Red enjoys lying by your feet or next to you on a couch. He is a snuggler and wants to be close to his people. He's such an awesome dog and companion. Unfortunately we need to rehome our family dog Cocoa. She has been with us since she was a puppy, but we have a young toddler in the house now that has developed an allergy to dogs and cats as well as my spouse. She has always been great with kids and we haven't had any behavioral issues with her. She is housebroken and is generally a mellow personality. She loves meeting new people and will be 5 years old in February.

Meet Rio, a pocket sized boxer mix that is attentive and loyal to people. Rio is a well-behaved dog who walks beautifully on a leash, needing only minimal corrections. He’s people-focused, often checking in with his handler during walks and around other dogs. He would love to go on hiking adventures or walks around the neighborhood. Rio could live in apartment due to his smart size and leash skills. But a home with a yard to roam in would be enjoyable for him too! Rio is gentle and relaxed, accepting touch with ease and even allowing himself to be picked up and carried without fuss. He does well with a quick verbal correction and shows no signs of resource guarding affection. While he gets along fine with cats when they’re on the ground, he may chase them if they jump onto high surfaces, so a cat-free home would be ideal. Rio is best suited for a home with a medium to low-energy dog or with a family where he can enjoy being both independent and affectionate. Kobi is a gentle soul who may initially be a bit reserved but opens up quickly once he feels secure. Though he can be shy outside his comfort zone, he walks well on a leash and adjusts easily to gentle corrections- but he does need a strong handler on walks. Kobi has lived with other dogs large and small. He prefers the ladies and submissive males. Unfortunately, Kobi does not get along with cats, as his curiosity tends to get the best of him in those situations. He can enjoy the company of goats and chickens, with whom he has shown friendliness. Adventures? Kobi loves car rides and loads and unloads with ease! He stands on the seat greeting you (he will need to be buckled in so he doesn’t end up in your lap). Kobi enjoys listening to music in the car and will even let you pick the radio station! He also loves golf cart rides! Kobi’s ideal home would be a peaceful environment with a yard to run around. Chasing sticks is a favorite pastime of his- but he’s not really a fan of toys. When he wants the attention of his humans he will bark, making him a poor candidate for an apartment! The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there!
