Our rescue took him in immediately and learned he is heartworm positive, sadly. We're having that treated, getting him plenty of small meals throughout the day and he should be ready for his furever home by the end of April. An elderly man who was once homeless took in their mama because he knew how it felt and couldn't bare to see her suffer out in the cold. They've all been vaccinated, dewormed, spayed/neutered and microchipped so all they need now is a family of their own! Keep in mind that young puppies require lots of patience and time to learn house manners and proper obedience. Cookie is a female, possible Rottweiler mix and is approximately 1 1/2 years old (December 14th), and she is around 55 pounds. -Has been with the shelter since January 2024 -Cookie is dog, kid, and adult friendly; sweet, cuddly, clever, and high-energy. -When taken into the yard to play, she is very excited and does jump quite high to get your attention. After a few minutes, she does relax and lay down in the yard. She was the easiest dog I've ever had to take pictures of. She just laid down and looked pretty! -Cookie is very patient and will sit and wait. She loves car rides! -Walks on a leash but does pull since she is so excited. -Housebroken is unknown since she is in a kennel.
