Near lives to be outside and spend his time cuddling up to his person. He foster with 3 other large dogs and does amazing. He’s housetrained. Fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and will be neutered before adoption.

Since he has been here, he has tested with a smaller spayed female and seemed more interested in the lovely bushes nearby, the fragrant smells and being sweet to his human handler. I got Lili from a college friend when she was just a puppy at 6 weeks old. Her birthday was 7/06/2020, making her four years old this year. She has been nothing, but a wonderful and beautiful dog. She is an outside dog, and with that, brings safety to the family. She lets us know when there are wild animals around (raccoons, opossums) at night, or if there are strangers (mailman, delivery man, unfamiliar cars, etc.) on the property. She will bark to inform us (she has never attacked anyone). Lili is very energetic and loves to play. Tug of war is one of her favorite playtime activities or playing with a ball. She will also keep you company by laying down beside you while you're outdoor reading a book, or just soaking in the sun. Because she has been an outdoor dog, she is not house-trained. So if you're interested and considering her to be an indoor dog, she will have to be house-train. She knows how to sit, lay down, stay, and give you her paw.

Meet Moose! This handsome middle-aged gentleman we believe is a Boxer Lab Pit mix. Moose weighs about 60 pounds but would gladly put on a few extra unneeded pounds if given the chance! Moose AKA Grandpa has a few things he would like to share with everyone: "Hello There!! My name is Moose and my favorite things in the entire world are Food, Naps, relaxing with my humans, and did I say FOOD?!!! My Foster momma says I'm working hard on learning house rules as she doesn't think I had many rules previously. I'm slowly learning how to play with toys and play with my five other fur siblings. Foster Mom says I'm a little socially awkward when it comes to playing but I do fully enjoy their company. I love watching them play... think of me as a fan in the crowd cheering for my team! So far my foster mom has learned that every new person is my BFF. Although I love people, I won't drag you over to meet someone new I will patiently wait until they come over to say HELLO and pray they have a snack for me! I meet new dogs appropriately, I'm amazing in the crate, house trained, and I won't pull you down the street. I'm extremely treat motivated, good with other dogs, and a perfect gentleman with Foster Mom's 6-month old daughter. I know I sound perfect so far because I am and I'd love to tell you more about myself when you inquire about me! Also if you have gotten to the end of my speech I want to thank you and let you know that my nickname is Grandpa because I can fall asleep anywhere, in any position, and start snoring in an instant like your typical Grandpa. Come meet our adoptable dogs on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm in the backyard at AARF's new location- 302 Thurston St, W-S. Go to AARFWS.org to view and apply for our AARF dogs. Information about the process is available on our website. Remember that we do not adopt more than a 45-minute radius from our facility in Winston Salem.
