ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     3m old sweet Grinchy from Puerto Rico will be here dec28th       All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.

Story
Lola Foster/Home Needed – Long Island, NY Lola is not a show girl, but she’s certainly pretty enough to be. This beautiful 10yr old Rotti was taken in by a guardian angel when her owner sadly passed away. Lola loves attention and adventures. She loves people but can be selective with other dogs and with cats. It’s best for Lola to be the only pet in the home. A fully fenced yard is a must. If you are interested in being the new home this pretty Rotti needs, please contact adoptions@paws-li.org or go to our FB page or call the number listed below. Story
Hi, Maple was born on March 30, 2024. She is a fun, and loving dog who is the daughter of our Rottweiler and our Labrador Mix. It was not a planned pregnancy but we ended up with 4 puppies. We have three other dogs at home so it’s a bit much trying to take good care of all of them while working. We are looking for someone or family who would welcome her to their family and take good care of her.

Story
Roo was born with a deformed front leg so she was surrendered by the breeder because he couldnt sell her. She is a great dog and on the small size for her breed because we were told she was the runt of the litter. You would never believe she has a disability because she runs, jumps and plays just like any other 7 month old puppy.

Story
Willie is a 1 year old Rottweiler mix that came to us from an overcrowded shelter in Georgia through TSC's rescue program. Willie is goofy, fun loving, and affectionate! Unfortunately, whoever was Willie's previous owner did not do much training with him. He has shown some leash reactivity, and would do best in a home with a yard, or someone to continue training. He needs a family to continue teaching his commands as well as teaching him that not everyone wants to be jumped on for a hug! Willie gets along with everyone he meets and would make a great companion to any household that is dedicated to keep working with him. If you are interested in learning more about Willie, please call us at 516-869-6311 or email us at animalshelter@northhempsteadny.gov for more information. *Reminder* We are currently facilitating adoptions through appointment only. If you arrive at the shelter without an appointment to meet a dog, we may not be able to assist you. Please call the shelter (516-869-6311) during working hours (Mon. to Fri. 9AM-4PM; Sat. 10AM-4PM) for more information about this dog, the adoption process at the shelter, and to confirm availability. Please go to www.theshelterconnection.org for more information about and directions to the shelter.

Story
Meet Norbert. This sweet boy is 65 pounds of pure love and will wiggle his whole body in excitement when he sees his favorite people. Norbert adores humans and is always ready to give and receive affection. While he has a big heart for people, he would do best as the only pet in the home, where he can be the center of attention. At just one year old, this resilient pup deserves his happily ever after. If you’re ready to give Norbert the loving home he’s been waiting for, submit an application today! All dogs will be altered, microchipped, and receive age-appropriate vaccines prior to adoption. Please note that the listed location for this dog may not be accurate due to technical limitations of this database and we have transportation options available within 6 hours of NYC (so don't let location hold you back)!
