Story
Barkley is a sweet 5 yr old rottie mix. She has been in rescue over 3 years. She needs to find her forever home. She does have a high prey drive, so no cats or small dogs. She has done absolutely fine with older children. She has not been exposed to smaller kids other than walking through the store and did fine. She has been completely vetted and is house and crate trained. She loves her belly rubs and will often wait for you to give her one before coming inside. She has no issues being left alone in the home. Would you be the family she has been waiting on? We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
This boy is the last of the litter still looking for a home. He is very friendly, loves to play and would love an active family. He gets along with other dogs and doesn't have to be the alpha. He will need all the puppy training as he's never been inside of a house. He is a quick learner and is learning manners when greeting people (he's a bit jumpy). He is a fun boy who just wants to have a good time. He is located in Tennessee but can be transported through Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Leono ACCT-A-179594 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to behavioral concerns. Leono must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER or EXPERIENCED ADOPTER by FRIDAY, JANUARY 31ST at 10AM. Should Leono’s medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Meet Leono, an approximately 10-month-old Rottweiler. This high-energy, happy-go-lucky guy is looking for his forever friend. He was surrendered by his owners on January 20th when they were moving, and they described him as a playful, active boy and a good friend. Leono is full of life and enthusiasm—he loves to explore, comes up to people for attention, and engages in play. While he knows “sit” and is willing to trade toys, Leono is a big boy who will need training to help him learn manners and boundaries. He leash bites and can be snatchy when food is around, so tossing treats is recommended. Leono would do best in a home without children under the age of 13 due to his lack of manners. If you’re looking for an energetic pal who’s ready to learn and grow, Leono could be the one for you! Leono tested positive for pneumovirus, and his leash biting has been escalating now that he is in isolation. Due to his leash biting and the risk of further behavioral decline, Leono is urgently seeking placement with a rescue partner or experienced adopter. VIDEOS: Leono loves to play: https://youtube.com/shorts/lgLhXWPbuXI?feature=share Leono and Kelp Banner Dog Meet: https://youtube.com/shorts/Lpd2LpzZL9o?feature=shared BEHAVIOR: Per staff 1/28: Leono did not do well for his dog meet today. He was initially whale eyes and snarling a little. We did a little walk along and then was he jumping towards the other dog with his mouth open. At the end he bared teeth, so we stopped the meet. Per staff 1/26: Informed by staff that Leono is leash biting really bad in iso and has been giving them handling issues. Almost bit experienced staff when walking due to biting near their hands while leash biting and another staff member had to come out and help. Per staff 1/22: Leono came out for some activity time today. He did well for leashing and was patient! Once in the room he was very wiggly and social with us and a lot of energy! He greeted both of us present in the room with loose body language and allowed all handling without issue. He enjoyed playing tug with a toy and getting treats scattered around the room to find. He would benefit from an active home where he can get out all his energy and get training to help his manners! 1/21 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: KENNEL PRESENTATION: Leo was standing at the front of kennel and was very wiggly at the door with soft eyes, mid level wags. He was easy to leash, but once out of kennel began to leash bite. No issues returning. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls strongly Leash Bites! HANDLING : In the room Leo was very excitable and high energy. He was darting around the room and trying to snatch treats anywhere he could and sniffing around exploring. He was wiggly towards both of us in the room and allowed all over handling without any issues. But was a LOT to handle and lacks manners and boundaries. He is very snatchy with food so tossing treats is best and he will try to steal them out of your pouch, desk, etc. He showed knowledge of sit while out, but would highly benefit from further training as he is a very large boy with no manners or boundaries. PLAY: Engaged in play TOYS Accepted trades Per staff 1/20: Hyper, very friendly and food motivated, leash bites. Summary of owner surrender notes: They had him for 8 months and said “He likes to play, he runs a lot and is a good friend”. He is not housebroken, is partially crate trained, and is high energy. They did not have any behavior concerns. MEDICAL: On 1/23, Leono was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection (URI) or "doggy cold" and started on medication. He tested positive for pneumovirus and was moved into isolation. During his intake exam on 1/20, Leono weighed 63.1 pounds, had minimal tartar on his back molars, and had dandruff but otherwise no other skin issues. His eyes were red and he had red bumps on his ears and mild ear wax. Due to being significantly overcapacity with animals and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately. Due to limited space, timestamps may also be proceeded with early so it is imperative to let us know if you are considering adopting or tagging an animal. I dropped a treat and then went to leash him, which he allowed easily! He dodged it once then allowed leashing. He walks well on leash, doesn’t seem to pull much. He really likes to stay by my side in the play yard. Super treat motivated- he was trying to sniff treats and grab them out of my pocket. Takes them gently, but doesn’t really know how to take them out of your hand. Seems like a young pup! He took pets from me all over. Very playful, fetched a ball and brought it back to. Very sweet and fun boy!! No issues going back into his kennel 01/25/2025 staff notes: Biscuit came out for activity time today. In kennel Biscuit was a bit nervous and flinched when the leash touched him, needing some baby talk and reassurance. In the room, he was very sweet and open and allowed all handling from me, although he's never met me before. He pushed his body into me and the other handler and went back and forth between us for love and affection. He id really well when a male staff member came into the room. He backed up into his main handler but was curious and allowed the staff member to crouch down and give him a treat. he had soft eyes and a wagging tail and sat patiently for them. 01/23/2025 staff notes: Although Biscuit was originally said to not be good with men, he met two men today during his eval and he did really well with them! He was non reactive to two men walking into the room, and even cuddled into one of them and allowed all over pets! He did well sniffing a male staff member while walking back to kennel as well! 01/23/2025 staff notes: KENNEL PRESENTATION: When approaching in kennel Biscuit was standing at the front of kennel. When he saw the handler he looked up with bloodshot but neutral eyes. He flinched away from the leash at first but allowed the handler to then slowly place it over his head. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls moderately HANDLING : In the room Biscuit was friendly with both of us. He had soft eyes, mid level wags, and a loose body. He allowed all over handling without any issues and leaned in while petting pets, rubbing against us. He was well mannered and showed knowledge of sit as well. He took treats gently when offered as well and was very patient! When a male handler entered the room Biscuit stayed near his main handler and was panting heavily, but unreactive. After a few minutes he was open to approaching the male handler with mid level wags and licked his hands through the bars. PLAY: Some interest TOYS Interest but no possession 01/22/2025 staff notes: Removed Biscuit from the truck for the APO, as he was reactive to men. When I approached Biscuit he gave me wags in the truck and had neutral body language. Allowed me to easily leash him and hopped out without issue. Gave the APO some hard stares when walking past at a distance but was unreactive and I was able to place him in kennel easily. 01/22/2025 APO staff notes: Was warned by finder that when she took him to her job to check for a microchip he only went after a male coworker.
