Story
Sparkles came into rescue with her littermates (b. Nov 2023) and they were all battling the deadly Parvovirus.  She has recovered and is now healthy!!  She is a Rottweiler/Pitbull Mix and such a sweet girl with a bright disposition.  She is smart and athletic with an abundance of energy.  Sparkles is a little shy in new or unfamiliar surroundings, but before long, she is all wiggles and wags.  She LOVES to snuggle!  She gets along with other dogs and with kids.  She would do well with an active family and other pets since she doesn't like being alone. The suggested adoption donation for Sparkles is $465, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavi/oral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $390,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   Alter Agreement: If the dog or cat you adopt is older than six months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you. Story
A-Roo-Roo! That's the Rottweiler's way of saying "Hello!" Ing Lesh is an adult Rottweiler (b. approximately 7/2019) looking for his forever home. He is housebroken, dog friendly, and kid friendly with children 6 years of age and older. He knows some commands and loves to give kisses! Ing Lesh is active and would need a fenced in yard to help contain some of that active energy. Ing Lesh also likes to play with toys, however, he might need help learning how to share. He would love to have another furry canine friend if you already have one. Ing Lesh likes to sing the song of his people when he is left alone.  He is crate trained, but will need some extra encouragement that it is his safe space. He enjoys belly rubs, treats and toys of all kind! If you have room in your home for another member of your family, fill out an application for Ing Lesh!  The suggested adoption donation for Ing Lesh is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Story
Say hello to sweet Bella, a Rottweiler, (b. appx Feb 2020) and she is ready for her second chance! Bella is looking for a home with experienced dog people (bonus points if you have Rottweiler experience!).  She also needs a home without kids or other dogs.  She is housebroken, kennel trained and knows some commands.  She gets along with cats and she would be okay around older kids (age 10+), probably just if they're visiting.  Even though Bella is a big girl, she is still a lap dog at heart and loves giving kisses.  Bella enjoys being active and needs a fenced yard with room to explore.  She likes to play, but prefers not to share her toys.  Bella prefers to dine alone so she will need her own personal space for meals.  Let's find this sweet and loyal girl a new place - apply today! The suggested adoption donation for Bella is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Good with dogs,
Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation. If you are new to German Shepherds (and other herding breeds), please research the breed to make sure this is the dog for you. We ask that you consider the time and financial commitment that your German Shepherd (or other herding breed) dog will require before applying for one. Please review the section on our website (www.heartlandgsrescue.org) 'Is a HUGS Dog Right for You?' for additional information. Titan is a big, cuddly teddy bear who loves food, bones, and toys. He loves his people and giving lots of hugs and kisses. He gets along very well with other dogs and really loves his foster siblings. He is kennel-trained and likes to learn, especially if treats are involved. He loves backyard zoomies and during winter, jumping in the snow. He is still in puppy mode and loves to play and chew. He is a smart, active boy that thrives when his mind and body are occupied. As with all puppies and teens, he would do best with a family that can provide lots of quality time, walks, good supervision and guidance, and plenty of chew toys! Titan is a big sweetheart that will steal your heart.Like any of our dogs, this young boy would make a great addition to an active home that will provide the love, structure, good leadership, activity and mental stimulation that his breed needs.  Because of that, Titan's ideal owner will have prior Rottweiler or other similar breed experience.  Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, please remember  that you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings, in order to provide sufficient stimulation, ward off boredom, and work on leash skills, and manners.   Titan's adoption fee is $350, all of which goes back into offsetting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs.  We are a 100% volunteer-run rescue group and rely on adoption fees and donations to continue saving lives. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (and treated if positive), and microchipped. Please visit http://heartlandgsrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption for more information about our adoption process and requirements, and to apply.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please review the information in the 'About Us', 'Important Considerations' and 'Adopt' sections on our website menu, as it contains useful information about the breed, adoption fees, the adoption process and our requirements, and how meeting the dogs works.October 26, 2024, 2:26 pm

Story
MARR covers Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Wisconsin and transportation is available for foster/adoption within those states. Zailey is currently in Indianapolis, IN. Zailey has been looking for her forever home and she keeps getting overlooked. As any pet, Zailey does have her challenges, but she has been working hard to overcome them. Zailey is fully muzzle and crate trained. She has also learned that barking does not get her what she wants, therefore she has resorted to throwing tantrums on the floor and couch. However, if you ask her if she wants a cookie, she snaps right out of it and comes leaping to wherever you are. She is a work in progress and is extremely food motivated so that is helpful with training. She knows sit, down, stay, bedtime, room, outside, inside, off, easy, and leave it. There are a couple of other commands she hasn't fully mastered but she is slowly getting there. Zailey has also almost mastered walking on a loose leash with her head halter, she has also been learning wait when crossing streets. I could go on and on about everything Zailey has learned while staying with her current fosters but that would be a novel. Zailey LOVES toys and even though she loves playing with them she rarely purposely destroys them and would rather throw them around. Zailey is a wonderful dog that just needs reassurance when facing new situations, people, and other dogs. She has learned that if her foster mom is calm then there is no need for her to react, Zailey would do best in a kid free household where she can get all the attention. Princess Zailey is very much spoiled and would love to show you her tricks in exchange for a treat. She needs someone that will be stern with her and hopefully is rottie savvy. Something else that will help her be very successful is following the decompression guide as she will not rest and nap unless she is alone. We believe Zailey could live with another dog in the home but it would require slow introductions and be a laid back dog for the best chance at long term success. Will you be her angel here on earth?
