Story
Sparkles came into rescue with her littermates (b. Nov 2023) and they were all battling the deadly Parvovirus.  She has recovered and is now healthy!!  She is a Rottweiler/Pitbull Mix and such a sweet girl with a bright disposition.  She is smart and athletic with an abundance of energy.  Sparkles is a little shy in new or unfamiliar surroundings, but before long, she is all wiggles and wags.  She LOVES to snuggle!  She gets along with other dogs and with kids.  She would do well with an active family and other pets since she doesn't like being alone. The suggested adoption donation for Sparkles is $465, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavi/oral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $390,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   Alter Agreement: If the dog or cat you adopt is older than six months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you. Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $80 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost. If the dog or cat is younger, than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice. If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $80 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses. All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized. ##1954394##

Story
A-Roo-Roo! That's the Rottweiler's way of saying "Hello!" Ing Lesh is an adult Rottweiler (b. approximately 7/2019) looking for his forever home. He is housebroken, dog friendly, and kid friendly with children 6 years of age and older. He knows some commands and loves to give kisses! Ing Lesh is active and would need a fenced in yard to help contain some of that active energy. Ing Lesh also likes to play with toys, however, he might need help learning how to share. He would love to have another furry canine friend if you already have one. Ing Lesh likes to sing the song of his people when he is left alone.  He is crate trained, but will need some extra encouragement that it is his safe space. He enjoys belly rubs, treats and toys of all kind! If you have room in your home for another member of your family, fill out an application for Ing Lesh!  The suggested adoption donation for Ing Lesh is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Story
Say hello to sweet Bella, a Rottweiler, (b. appx Feb 2020) and she is ready for her second chance! Bella is looking for a home with experienced dog people (bonus points if you have Rottweiler experience!).  She also needs a home without kids or other dogs.  She is housebroken, kennel trained and knows some commands.  She gets along with cats and she would be okay around older kids (age 10+), probably just if they're visiting.  Even though Bella is a big girl, she is still a lap dog at heart and loves giving kisses.  Bella enjoys being active and needs a fenced yard with room to explore.  She likes to play, but prefers not to share her toys.  Bella prefers to dine alone so she will need her own personal space for meals.  Let's find this sweet and loyal girl a new place - apply today! The suggested adoption donation for Bella is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation. If you are new to German Shepherds (and other herding breeds), please research the breed to make sure this is the dog for you. We ask that you consider the time and financial commitment that your German Shepherd (or other herding breed) dog will require before applying for one. Please review the section on our website (www.heartlandgsrescue.org) 'Is a HUGS Dog Right for You?' for additional information. Titan is a big, cuddly teddy bear who loves food, bones, and toys. He loves his people and giving lots of hugs and kisses. He gets along very well with other dogs and really loves his foster siblings. He is kennel-trained and likes to learn, especially if treats are involved. He loves backyard zoomies and during winter, jumping in the snow. He is still in puppy mode and loves to play and chew. He is a smart, active boy that thrives when his mind and body are occupied. As with all puppies and teens, he would do best with a family that can provide lots of quality time, walks, good supervision and guidance, and plenty of chew toys! Titan is a big sweetheart that will steal your heart.Like any of our dogs, this young boy would make a great addition to an active home that will provide the love, structure, good leadership, activity and mental stimulation that his breed needs.  Because of that, Titan's ideal owner will have prior Rottweiler or other similar breed experience.  Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, please remember  that you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings, in order to provide sufficient stimulation, ward off boredom, and work on leash skills, and manners.   Titan's adoption fee is $350, all of which goes back into offsetting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs.  We are a 100% volunteer-run rescue group and rely on adoption fees and donations to continue saving lives. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (and treated if positive), and microchipped. Please visit http://heartlandgsrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption for more information about our adoption process and requirements, and to apply.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please review the information in the 'About Us', 'Important Considerations' and 'Adopt' sections on our website menu, as it contains useful information about the breed, adoption fees, the adoption process and our requirements, and how meeting the dogs works.October 26, 2024, 2:26 pm

Story
My name is AJ and I am estimated to be between 3-5 years old.    I feel so blessed that I was able to get into a rescue after being picked up as a stray and sent to a shelter.    Shelters and rescues all over the country are full so I am very lucky to have been rescued. I am an all natural boy with a full tail.    Sometimes I like to chase it! I am friendly and playful.   I am an adolescent male who needs training and patience.    I need to go to a home with people who have current Doberman experience who have the time and patience to work with me. I cannot go into a home with little dogs or cats. If you are interested in me please go to www.doberescue-ne.orgAll of our dogs are current with all shots, are on heart worm preventative monthly and are neutered/spayed. All dogs are tail docked. All of the above Dobes are pure breed Dobermans unless otherwise noted. We hope you can find a place in your heart and your home for one of our rescue Dobes. Please Note:In most cases we require a fenced yard.We do not place our rescue dogs in homes with very young children (under the age of 8 years). We set these limitations, not because of aggression issues with our dogs, but because Dobermans are generally large, active dogs and can easily knock down, run over or easily trip a small child, causing a serious fall. Also, we reserve the right to refuse adoption for any reason. Our adoption area encompasses Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.Copyright © 2007 - Omaha Doberman RescueFor more information or to fill out an adoption request please visithttp://www.doberescue-ne.org/October 14, 2024, 12:21 am

Story
My name is Amos and I about 2-3 years old. I am a handsome all natural blue boy. I had a family once and I thought things were good but, apparently, they weren’t because one day I was just taken out and dumped in the middle of nowhere and left to fend for myself.  I did not understand why, It was a scary time but fortunately someone got me to a shelter and the kind people there took care of me and found a rescue who would take me.  They even drove me for many hours to get me to the rescue. I am not one to hold grudges, so I took the journey in stride and loved on all of my drivers all of the way to Nebraska.  I was just so grateful for the help! I am looking forward to my new family so let me tell you some things about myself. I am a blue with a decent coat.  Well, let me just say that I am handsome, ok?  I am!  I am a nice boy and like people.  I think that every dog I see is someone I should play with. I have not met any cats yet.  I was a model passenger in the car and did not try to tell people how to drive.  I don’t do too badly on a leash, either. I am neutered and vaccinated and ready to start over. If you want a handsome addition to your family, meet the adoption criteria, and are in the correct area shown on the rescue website (www.doberescue-ne.org), please fill out an application for me.  I am not famous like the cookie guy but the ladies sure do like me.All of our dogs are current with all shots, are on heart worm preventative monthly and are neutered/spayed. Story
Jasper, a Bernadoodle/Pitbull mix, was born 12/16/2023.  Jasper is very puppy-like and energetic. He will be happiest when there is another dog or cat in his home for company, however, he has not yet learned to share his toys with them.  Jasper is a smarty who already knows a few  commands (paw, sit, and outside), and he learns best when training sessions aren't overly long and if treats are involved.  He walks well on a leash, and loves to be outside so much that he views an open door as an invitation to get out and explore on his own.  His ideal home will be with a family that has a big fenced yard and plenty of time to play with him.  Jasper still needs reminders that he should not jump up on people, especially young children since he could accidently topple them.  This active and vocal young fellow may not do well in an apartment home.  If Jasper sounds like the pup to make your family complete, see below for information about adoption. The suggested adoption fee for Jasper is $415.  Bullies-N-Beyond is a 501(c)3, non-profit corporation that is 100% volunteer operated. Adoption donation fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. All dogs adopted through BNBR will have been administered their age appropriate vaccines which may include DHPP, Rabies, Lepto and Bordetella. All dogs will also be adopted out as already altered if of age, for those not of age, a voucher will be provided. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. BNBR does not adopt on a first serve basis. All available dogs are adopted based on their needs to provide the best fit home. ##2087431##
