Story
Oh, sweet Bubba! He is such a handsome caramel and black Rottweiler mix of ~7.5 years and ~55 pounds who came to us through @Saving Death Row Dogs in Topeka, Kansas. He's an amazing boy who deserves an equally amazing home. Bubba just adores children! His perfect day is being with his humans, running in the grass, and lounging with his toys. Bubba loves playing on the couch and rearranging the covers, too. Oh, and giving his human friends kisses! He's been around cats and does fine. Because they are scary to him, though, Bubba will not do well with other dogs in his home. Text or call The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information about Bubba. If you'll foster him, all of his expenses will be paid. Bubba's adoption fee is also being paid by a friend and we can transport him from KC, if needed. 💕 #thepetconnection #RottweilerMix #RescueDog #AdoptDontShop #DogLovers #KansasDogs #PetAdoption #FosterAPet #DogRescue #KCAdopt #DogsofInstagram

Story
3 year old Portobello is an easy going big boy who enjoys going for walks and meeting people, as well as hanging out in the shelter playgroups with the other polite pups. This handsome boy was found as a stray so we don`t know anything about his previous life but we do know that he`s going to make his new adopters very happy with his gentle ways. Portobello needs a home with no children. He is fully house trained and kennel trained. He stays in the kennel when we aren`t home and at night. He will go into the kennel for a treat. Can sit, lay down, stay, and come. After a few slow introductions he became great buddies with our pitty. He is very interested in the cats, he will chase if they run. But there`s one cat that doesn`t run and he just sniffs that cat. With slow introductions he could likely live with other cats.On a leash he listens. He can be reactive over food and should be fed separately. We are working on that. He will do anything for a tennis ball. He also recently learned that he loves snow!Portobello is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and ready to head home with you! This boy is currently living in a foster home. If you would like to learn more about him or meet him, please email foster@kcpetproject.org.

Roxy is one unique girl who's had a rough go being in our boarding facility for several years now, which is never good. That said, her personality is still that of a smiley happy dog, who loves to go on walks with our volunteers. Roxy was recently fostered in a home for the holidays where she did very well, having no accidents and behaving like an angel! Roxy can be a little nervous and unsure of men, which just means men should give her time to familiarize with them, and respect her by moving slowly, and not acting like an idiot or aggressive (I'm a guy btw, I can vouch we are idiots at times). Roxy needs someone patient, but once she connects with you, she will be your best friend and love you in the most special way. If you think you are that unique opportunity for Roxy, she's been waiting!Approximate Birthdate: Oct 2017Adoption Fee: Roxy's adoption fee has been sponsored by the Kansas City Crime Lab!TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming. TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL.Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed. Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds. For more information please fill out an application.October 28, 2024, 6:52 pm

Story
Ace is a male Rottweiler born 10/10/2020. He's up to date on shot's but is ready for his yearly shots. He is aggressive to other animals and aggressive to people. He's been inside house dog and loyal to me his owner dad. He has been separated from other animals in the house because of my girlfriend since he was a puppy. Well she let him in the backyard and mistakenly let her little dog out after and my Rottweiler killed her dog. Now I'm everyone else fault and my dog is the bad guy and has to go. I tried sending him to training as a pup and kept getting people who wanted me to pay them to train my own dog myself. Didn't work out couldn't find a real trainer anymore everyone wants to do it behind a cellphone video training. Well at the end my poor dog has to suffer and be rehomed.

Story
There are two things in life Timber loves. Peanut butter and her people...in that order Peanut butter is life! Single guy needing a ride or die? Timber's your girl! Single lady that loves to walk? Timber will be by your side every step of the way! A couple looking to change the world for a dog? She's got ya! We believe Timber is a rottweiler mix, she's got a big ol beefy head. She's 5 years old, and over 100 lbs. She's pretty quiet unless she needs to potty or she wants peanut butter. She's great left out of the kennel and is housetrained. She has been around kids, but truly does NOT know her size. She also prefers to be the only dog, she doesn't like to share her peanut butter or huggies...which means more love and more peanut butter for the two of you!!! No sharing!!

Story
Hi, I'm Mustard! I am a large young adult Rottweiler who is looking for an experienced dog owner. I am a very hyper, happy guy but I really need some consistent training. The shelter environment is causing a lot of pent up energy and boredom. I need an exercise outlet and some guidance on how to make good choices. I am cat neutral and enjoy playing with other dogs, but I am an excited humper which most other dogs don't appreciate. The shelter staff have been training me with much progress! Come check out what I've learned so I can show off my skills!

These pups are in Kansas City, Missouri too!

Story
Meet Stewie My name is Stuart, but my friends call me Stewie. I'm a Pittie mix who is a little over 1 year old. I've been with my foster family for a few months now and am looking for a forever home of my own. My foster mom brought me to her home after meeting me because she felt really bad about the rough start I had to my life. You see, I was found by the Pet Resource Center of Kansas City's Outreach team in December. I'd been outside in the rain and cold over Christmas and I was skinny and scared. I wasn't sure if I could trust the humans who found me, but eventually I went along with them and was soon warm and safe and had food in my tummy. When my foster mom first brought me home with her, I was happy to find there were dogs in her home but I needed to make the male human in the home work for my trust, lol. He hand fed me 3 meals a day for a few days before I finally thought he was okay. I must keep some secrets to myself, but my foster parents quickly learned I wasn't treated very well by the humans who had me before. I don't want to tell them everything and make them sad, but they do know I was abused. I wasn't afraid of things in the house, but if someone made sudden movements I'd flinch. I'm doing a LOT better with that now thanks to all the love and patience from my foster family. It takes me some time to warm up to new humans, men mostly, but as soon as I know you're okay, I'm the bestest friend you could ever want! I give nice kisses, and will roll over for belly rubs. I do make my foster parents laugh a lot especially because of my "Super Top Secret Shoe Relocation Program". It's a mystery to everyone else except for me, but sometimes I think my foster parents' shoes or slippers need to be relocated to different areas of the house. I think it's super funny when they wake up in the morning and can't find their slippers! I also talk a LOT which sometimes frustrates me because my foster parents don't know what I'm trying to tell them. They think I should probably live in a house and not an apartment because I do talk so much. I like to go on walks, and I love learning new stuff. My foster mom has taught me how to sit, lay down, look at her, come here, and a few other things. I like it when she spends time with me teaching me stuff, and think I'd like a human who will continue doing things like that with me. I've put a lot of thought into this, and I think my ideal forever home will be one that's laid back but with humans who want to take me on walks every day. My BFF in my foster home is Soda Pop. We're pretty close in age and have lots of fun wrestling and playing and going on walks together. I don't need to live with another dog though because sometimes I just want to hang out and Soda just wants to play non-stop, which can be kinda annoying sometimes (but don't tell him I said that). If you're looking for a smart, handsome, affectionate guy who enjoys long walks and new adventures I'm your guy.
