Hello there! I'm Cadbury, your future best friend. Unfortunately this isn't my first rodeo at the shelter. I was found wandering around town and the nice people at the shelter weren't able to contact my owner. I'm the sweetest guy you'll ever meet, and I love making new friends. My goofiness is contagious, and I promise to keep you laughing with my silly antics. I've got a knack for making friends, whether they're dogs or cats, and I've never met a treat I didn't like. Be my second chance and adopt me! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##1037191##

Hello! My name is Kat and I am the Inn keeper and manager of the Barnwood Inn in humansville MO. We sell backyard portable-buildings and one of our repos we received but have no idea why it was dropped off at the inn had this sweet little girl in it. She is skinny but no fleas. Im going to take her to all creatures to get her scanned. We did try to contact the person whos name was associated with the building and it didnt work. Little information on her. Found: 1/23/2025 in humansville MO Gender: Female I believe shes a Rottweiler Is super loving and friendly to me and my kids whom we are all female but unfortunately when my husband came home she did try to attack him. She kinda warmed up to him after he gave her food but still skittish about him. Im not sure how she is with other pets unfortunately. I would think maybe someone with some experience with this type of breed would be good but obviously we arent professionals!

Scout came to us from an AKC registered breeder. She is 3 years old. She has a joyful, playful demeanor and is great with people, especially kids. We are looking to rehome Scout because she does not play well with cats or chickens, and we have several of both. Also as our children are getting older we have more obligations, leaving less time to devote to Scout. We are looking for a home to provide her with loving attention. She is content with a good belly rub and simply spending time with her.
