We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=44, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46) completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Gentle giant rottie. He is currently 2 years old. He is purebred and AKC registered. No health issues. Very good with children including babies. Knows all basic commands and a few tricks. Loves playing with other dogs. Has never shown any aggression or bit anyone. And no known health issues. He is house trained. He is crate trained. He comes with feeding bowls, leash(es) and any food items, vitamins, grooming stuff still available at the time of adoption all included in his adoption fee. Overall a very good dog, but new job that requires everyday in-person so have lost a lot of time to spend with him unfortunately.

Story
Meet Cassie, a delightful and playful girl who radiates joy and friendliness! With her gentle demeanor, she gets along wonderfully with other dogs, making her the perfect companion for playdates at the dog park. Cassie has been enjoying daily adventures outdoors since she was a pup, and her love for socializing shines through in every wag of her tail. This sweet girl is cherished and adored, bringing happiness to everyone she meets. Unfortunately, due to a friend's son's allergies becoming unmanageable, I am fostering Cassie while we search for her forever home. I would love to keep her, but my cats aren't as welcoming to her curious spirit. If you're looking for a loving and affectionate furry friend to brighten your days, Cassie is ready to bring joy and companionship into your life! Let's find her the loving home she deserves!

Story
MEET KENOBI: Age: 8 weeksWeight: 15 lbsBreed: Purebred Rottweiler Meet Kenobi, an adorable and energetic Rottweiler pup who's ready to find his forever home! Kenobi was surrendered by his previous owners who realized that, with a newborn baby in the house, they were not fully prepared for the puppy stage, especially with a breed of his expected size. Kenobi is your typical playful puppy! He is currently working on crate training but hasn't started leash walking yet. Given his young age and energetic nature, he will require a family who has experience with large breed dogs and can help him learn proper house manners and socialization. Kenobi will thrive in a home with plenty of space for him to stretch his legs and play. He is not suited for apartment living, condos, or mobile homes. An active family with a fenced yard or someone who enjoys avid leash walking would be the perfect match for him. He'll do best with other active dogs that can handle his exuberance and in a home with dog-savvy children. As a teething puppy, Kenobi is still learning about the world around him. He will need guidance on manners and socialization, so a dedicated owner who is home more often than not in this imprinting time that can devote time to training is essential. He is not a good fit for first-time dog owners and will benefit from an experienced guardian who understands the needs of large breed puppies. If you think you have the energy, experience, and love to give Kenobi the forever home he deserves, please reach out for more information! This little guy is ready to learn and grow with a family that understands the joys and challenges of raising a Rottweiler. Kenobi will go home in foster-to-adopt status with his new family until his neuter surgery has been completed at 8 months of age at one of our partner Veterinary offices (Chesterfield, Clinton Twp, Sterling Heights, Clawson, or Rochester), which is included in the adoption fee and is non-negotiable. Kenobi is:Current on Rabies and DistemperDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedScheduled for neuter surgery at 8 months of age at our partner veterinary office (included in the adoption fee).ADOPTION FEE: $550 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. Story
Barkley is a sweet 5 yr old rottie mix. She has been in rescue over 3 years. She needs to find her forever home. She does have a high prey drive, so no cats or small dogs. She has done absolutely fine with older children. She has not been exposed to smaller kids other than walking through the store and did fine. She has been completely vetted and is house and crate trained. She loves her belly rubs and will often wait for you to give her one before coming inside. She has no issues.

Story
This boy is the last of the litter still looking for a home. He is very friendly, loves to play and would love an active family. He gets along with other dogs and doesn't have to be the alpha. He will need all the puppy training as he's never been inside of a house. He is a quick learner and is learning manners when greeting people (he's a bit jumpy). He is a fun boy who just wants to have a good time. He is located in Tennessee but can be transported through Rescue Riders Pet Transport.
