You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Buddy, one of two new residents at The Mikey & Me Kennels in Chelsea for Happy Days Rescue. Buddy is a Rottweiler Mix, he’s extremely sweet, I believe him to be about 8 months of age, and he weighs about 45 pounds. He sits patiently in his kennel at mealtime and he is just starting to enjoy going outdoors. We could see that going outdoors is something Buddy had to assess and evaluate for his safety. I don’t think Buddy has had much outdoor time but he’s slowly adapting to this new world. Buddy has a beautiful, short-haired coat. His first Vet appt. in Dexter is scheduled for Tuesday, November 25th. He will have a physical exam, heart worm test, and he will receive other vaccinations at that time. He came to us with some vaccinations and he’s been on flea/tick meds. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information. Rags is a very friendly and chill Rottie mix who was luckily rescued by his foster. He was found walking down a median on a busy road in Detroit. Rags currently lives with several other dogs and is very loving and sweet. It appeared he was not very well taken care of when found. He has an overbite which was probably congenital that causes his tongue to stick out. He had heartworm disease when we first got him but he was treated and is now healthy and heartworm negative. Rags is about 75 pounds and estimated to be about 10 years old. Rags has a good personality and would love to finally find a wonderful new family to love and care for him. This fellow definitely deserves it. Please consider making him a new addition to your home or companion for another friendly dog.

If your answer is yes than you might be the home for me! See I am simple girl but I do require lots of tennis balls!! I like other toys but nothing gets me as excited as having tennis balls! My foster says I am just a happy gal, that is good with all people even kiddos! I am house broken, but I may have had a couple accidents but I am still recovering from taking care of my 5 babies for the last several weeks. They all have found their forever homes and now it’s my turn. I was a great mom but my foster promised I never ever have to do it again, which sounds perfect to me! I really love my foster home. See, I also get alone time and have my own room, I have adults and kids who play fetch with me a few times a day. They all helped me get better on the leash, to come when I was called, I am actually even starting to learn how to settle down and watch TV. I would probably like to stay here but they have some big dogs here, I just don’t like when they get in my way. My foster thinks I will much prefer to be the only dog in a home. I think that is true at least to start. The cats here don’t bother me. Did I mention my NEED for tennis balls, oh I did, okay. Well that’s all for now.
