Story
Jolene LOVES belly rubs. She knows sit, paw and down; but rolls to her belly as fast as she can in hopes of cuddles. Jolene does not mind people getting in her face and thinks it's an invitation for kisses. She is a lover and not a fighter. Jolene is fostered with other dogs and plays with pitties, bullies, dobies and hounds daily. She has a deep growl when she plays (very much a Rottie thing) and can be the bully. Her dominate play style is maternal and not aggressive, she does well with other females or passive females. Jolene is playful and likes toys and keeping up with all the new smells around her. She would love a yard, farm or ranch to call home. She walks nicely on a leash, though she's huge, she's gentle and wants to stay with her human. Favorite Toy: Squeaky Duck Favorite Color: Purple Favorite Food: Duck jerky sticks She is 4 years old and appears to be mostly Rottweiler. Built like a 'brick house' - she is currently 92 lbs and stays busy supervising horses, chickens and many dog friends. Vaccinated, Spayed, Microchipped, Heartworm treated and on prevention - she is ready to travel to spend 2025 with her forever family. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes fee for XL crate in van transit to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Email to Apply! She came to the shelter with a male hound and shared a kennel with him until he was adopted. She struggled to make new dog friends at the loud shelter once she was alone, being transferred to SPCA Lake Jackson for care. Volunteers at the shelter loved Jolene and walked her daily, took her out for cuddles and tried to help her relax. We met her and knew we had the foster home and space/time she needed to decompress and show us her true self.

Story
Hi there! My name is Pollo, and I’m an exceptionally intelligent boy who’s been waiting for my forever home at FMAR for over five years. When I first arrived as a stray, I was in rough shape, but I’ve come a long way since then. Now, I’m ready to show someone just how wonderful I can be! Many people thought I was predominantly Pit Bull Terrier, but thanks to a DNA test done by a volunteer, I found out my true heritage! I’m made up of: * 52% Rottweiler * 27% American Pit Bull Terrier * 16% American Staffordshire Terrier * 3% American Bulldog You can really see my Rottweiler coloring shine in the sunlight! I have big dreams of becoming an agility dog! The volunteers here set up obstacle courses, and I absolutely love showing off my jumping skills. When I’m not being active, I enjoy relaxing in the yard and soaking up the sun. I might be a bit shy when meeting new people, but give me a few treats, and I’ll be your best friend in no time! I would thrive best with an experienced owner who understands my behavioral challenges. Nowadays, I’m fairly laid back and love spending time with the volunteers. Once I get to know someone, I quickly settle down and just crave a little love and affection. A few short walks or some time in a fenced backyard is all the exercise I need, and I enjoy mental stimulation through games and obedience commands. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who is eager to learn and love, come meet me, Pollo! I can’t wait to show you just how special I am. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you would like to meet me, please submit an application for me on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. I am neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. My adoption fee is $250, which covers part of the medical care I have received. *Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. The adoption process may require multiple visits to the shelter before a dog can go home with you. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. One we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

Had her since she was 8 weeks old. Moved to a new home a few months ago, she has adapted well. My son was helping with her, but has since moved out of state and I don't have time to do daily walks and other things for her with my changing schedule.

Story
Meet Reese, the sweetest Rottweiler mix you'll ever meet! This gorgeous girl may take a little time to warm up, but once she trusts you, she’ll steal your heart. Behind her kennel door, she might seem a bit intimidating—she's just cautious with strangers—but give her a chance, and you'll discover a snuggly, loyal companion who will love you with her whole heart.Reese came to us as a stray, her nose and body covered in scabs that tell the story of a tough past. She’s been a momma once or twice, but now it’s her turn to be cared for. While she seems to warm up a bit faster to women, she’s done wonderfully with our male kennel attendants too.Reese gets her name from the chocolate candy because she’s just as sweet and melts right into you when she feels safe. Slow introductions are key for Reese when meeting other dogs, as she can be selective with intense personalities. She hasn’t been tested with cats yet.If you’re looking for a loving, loyal, and snuggly best friend, Reese could be your perfect match. Fill out an adoption application for her and see if she’s the one to melt your heart! 🐾❤️**Spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs about 60 lbs**
