Story
Meet Moose, the lovable tripod! Moose was found as a stray by animal control, wandering injured, but fortunately, he was brought to safety at a shelter. Our partner rescue quickly stepped in to help. Sadly, Moose’s back leg couldn’t be saved, but he’s thriving on three legs and adjusting beautifully to his new way of life.   Moose is a calm, easy-going Rottweiler who absolutely adores head scratches and mealtime. He’s both crate-trained and potty-trained, and he’s obsessed with all humans! Moose shines in public, giving plenty of kisses, and is the perfect lazy companion.   While he enjoys hanging out with his foster family’s dogs, Moose prefers his space when it comes to playtime and might be happiest as the only dog in the home.   If you’re looking for a laid-back, loving boy who has plenty of affection to give, Moose could be the perfect fit for you! is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (puppies under the age of 6 months may not be sterilized prior to adoption, if this is the case your adoption coordinator will discuss the process with you). To adopt or learn more about: , you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, visit our website: WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM ** PLEASE READ: If a dog/puppy is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. In some cases this dog may be pending an adoption already, and their profile has not been updated yet. Please note, SPR does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated otherwise. All breeds listed are educated best estimates by transferring shelter staff, our volunteers or our vets. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort. If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation. To learn more about our rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of FAQ’s on our website at WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM **The FIRST step in adopting an animal from our rescue is to submit a completed adoption application. Story
Luna is a giant puppy. She is excitable, a bit dramatic and playful. She is crate trained and a big softy. She will sit at your feet all day long. She knows how to sit, sit pretty (on her hind legs) and lie down on command. She doesn't bark too much, but has natural security instincts. She is not vicious but she does try to play fight with dogs and doesn't know her boundaries so it can quickly escalate so she is best supervised when with other dogs. We had 2 dogs most of her life and they got along 99% of the time. Ideally she would be in a home that has a big yard and no other pets. She doesn't have a lot of stamina so she only needs a short walk. She's generally lazy. She does like to dig in dirt so if there are potted plants around and she is unsupervised she will root like pig.

Story
Flavia is a one of a kind girl who can`t wait to be someone`s best friend. She loves to meet new people and show off her best butt wiggles. Flavia was potty trained and crate trained in her previous home, but she might need a reminder that jumping on people to say hello can be considered rude. Flavia has met lots of dogs while she`s been with us and seems like she would do just find with an easy going canine companion. Unfortunately, Flavia came to us with a large Mast Cell Tumor on her leg and despite removing it we were unable to get all of the cancer. Thankfully, it a low grade tumor that isn`t likely to spread quickly, but could reoccur. A good relationship with a vet will be important to keep an eye on the site and discuss options for continued care. Flavia is a sweet and silly girl and we`re very hopeful she has many happy years ahead of her!If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog that’s a good match! To learn more about how to make the first few weeks with your new dog or puppy the most successful it can be, please visit www.mspca.org/petresources. For more information on our adoption process, please visit https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/how-to-adopt/ Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they’re interested in - and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

Story
Woodrow is a super smart, lovable and silly dog. We fell in love with his little face when we saw him on the adoption site from Pit Patter Junction in Arkansas. Him and his siblings were found in the woods by a hiker and was brought to the rescue shelter. Woodrow will be 2 years old in December and is been fun watching him grow. We live in a small city and our neighborhood is pretty congested with a lot of dogs in the area. And we don't have a big yard for Woodrow to play. He is very reactive towards dogs and I believe it's because he doesnt socialize much. Our family have all had schedule changes that make it hard to accommodate Woodrow's need for play. And after we got him, we found out 3 out of 4 family members are allergic to dogs! We have done our best to handle it but we feel Woodrow needs a large space to run around. Woodrow's reactivity to dogs would require proper training. But he is just the best and we are sad to see him go but know that he needs more than we can give him
