Story
Elphie is a energetic, lazy bones, cuddly, running in the woods sweet tempered dog. Great manners, recall skills and is able to follow basic commands with ease. Her happy place is with her owner, out in fields, around other animals, in the woods playing fetch, or swimming. She is the best mix of energetic and lazy and she will sleep all day if comfy enough but is always up for a walk. She would thrive in a household that can offer consistency, time, love and patience. Doing best with routine, someone who is able to take her to the park everyday is ideal over constant to coming and going from the house. She has Addisons disease which requires a daily pill, and monthly shot to ensure that her body produces cortisol. With proper medication routine she is just like any other happy, loving, sweet dog. Emphasizing the need for someone with the ability to meet her needs, and give her time. You'll find her to be an amazing hiking companion, or cuddle buddy.

Story
Shorty was adopted as a puppy by our family. At the time we had an older dominant female dog and another male puppy. It’s been two years since the female has passed away and the two male dogs have been unable to establish an alpha. This leaves them to occasionally fight. I have two sons and another puppy, he’s a loving and affectionate family dog who always snuggles and loves on both the dogs and family overall, however the fights between the two dogs are becoming more concerning. He is extremely intelligent, he’s equal parts playful and lazy like any good boxer. He’s a goofball and loves to be loved. He would do great in a home with a female dog, and in a home where someone is home with him during the day, as he’s used to our family with flexible schedules. All he wants is to be loved on. He’s never shown aggression to children or other people. He needs slow introductions to strange men but is fine once he’s met them. He has many years of a lot of love to give.

Story
♥️🐾ADOPT GYPSY🐾♥️ 📍 Located in Cincinnati, OH Gypsy may be petite at just 50 lbs, but her heart, personality, and enthusiasm are anything but small. This sweet red girl is almost 2 years old, full of love, curiosity, and playful energy. She has a knack for stealing hearts in seconds. Gypsy is super curious and leads life with joy and excitement. When meeting new dogs, she comes in hot with happy energy, think hugs, high-fives, and enthusiastic play. She does best with tolerant, playful large-breed companions who can handle her puppy antics and are equally happy to relax afterward. She would also be perfectly content as an only dog with plenty of attention and enrichment. With her people, Gypsy is an absolute snuggle bug. She adores human attention, has a special soft spot for her foster dad, and considers couch cuddles a top-tier activity. She’s affectionate, goofy, and always ready to make you laugh. ✨ What Gypsy Needs in a Forever Home: • A family willing to continue her training—she learns at her own pace and benefits from patience and structure • A playful dog sibling or a home where she can soak up all the love as an only dog • A cat-savvy home only—Gypsy thinks cats want to play, may chase if they run, and was deeply offended when a kitty once swatted her • Kids 15+, as she’s still very mouthy and full of puppy energy • A fully fenced yard for safe playtime Gypsy has adjusted beautifully to her crate and does great once settled into a routine. Her favorite nightly ritual includes winding down with a stuffed Kong, and she loves Nylabones for chewing and relaxing. Gypsy is truly a special girl who will thrive in a home that offers patience, consistency, and lots of love. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, slightly goofy companion who’s ready to blossom, Gypsy might be your perfect match. 📍 Gypsy is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Out-of-state adopters are welcome but must meet Gypsy in person to finalize adoption. 👉 Visit our website and submit an adoption application for Gypsy today: www.bluegrassdobermanrescue.org
