Story
Meet Maple – a beautiful Rottie mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart! 🐾Maple recently had a meet-and-greet with another dog and absolutely loved the experience. She’s especially excited to make friends with dogs her own size who are ready to romp, wrestle, and play. Big-dog energy is her vibe! (She would do best in a home without small animals including cats.)Like many shelter dogs, Maple can be a little nervous when meeting new people at first. She just needs a little time to observe and warm up — once she does, her fun, spunky, goofy personality shines through. She’s full of playful antics, loyal to her people, and happiest when she knows her place and routine.Maple has those classic Rottie quirks — smart, expressive, sometimes a little stubborn — but incredibly devoted and eager to bond. With structure, consistency, and lots of love, she will absolutely thrive and become the most loyal companion you could ask for.If you’re looking for a playful, spirited girl who will keep you laughing and love you fiercely, Maple might just be your perfect match. 💛An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $200.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.Cats and kittens are minimum donation $50.00

Story
Meet Lilly Pad!Lilly Pad is an estimated 1-year-old Boxer mix with a beautiful brindle coat and an even sweeter personality to match. When you first meet her she may be a little shy, but give her just a few minutes and she quickly warms up into an absolute sweetheart who loves attention. She seems to do well around other dogs, and with a proper introduction she could make a great canine companion. A meet-and-greet would be recommended if you already have a dog at home. Her compatibility with cats is currently unknown and would need to be tested.Lilly Pad came to us through a transfer from Animal Control after needing a little extra TLC. Thanks to the care she received, she’s now healthy, happy, and ready for her next chapter. After everything she’s been through, Lilly Pad is more than ready to trade in her kennel for a forever home where she can feel safe, loved, and part of a family. If you're looking for a gentle, loving young dog with lots of potential, Lilly Pad might just be the perfect addition to your home.An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $200.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.Cats and kittens are minimum donation $50.00

Story
June Bug is ready to trade kennel life for a cozy couch and a family to call her own. Estimated to be around 8 years old, this sweet senior girl still has plenty of love left to give. She absolutely adores people and happily soaks up every bit of attention she can get. June Bug doesn’t seem to mind other dogs either, but a meet and greet is still required to make sure everyone is a good fit. She’s housebroke, spayed, and up to date on her vaccines, so she’s more than ready to settle right into home life. June Bug came to us as a transfer from animal control, and now she’s hoping her next stop is her forever home. Her adoption fee is a monetary donation of your choice, because what matters most is finding her the loving home she deserves. All she’s asking for is a comfy couch, some loving humans, and of course unlimited pup cups along the way. 🐾If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who’s ready to spend her golden years by your side, June Bug is your girl. 💕An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt.
