Peek-a-Boo! Pongo is popping in to say hi and let you know he is searching for the perfect family. Pongo is pretty relaxed for a puppy, but still a playful ball of fun! Pongo loves spending time outside chasing his sister. He loves chew toys and tennis balls. He is still adjusting to his foster home and has been a little timid, but he REALLY wants attention. Due to his high prey drive he hasn’t interacted with his feline foster siblings. We don’t think he’d hurt them intentionally, but he’s still just a pup and doesn’t know his own strength. This smart guy is crate trained and working hard on potty training, he’s already pee-pad trained! Pongo is very treat motivated and smart, if you’re willing to put in the time training him we think he can learn anything! Prudence (aka Pru) would love to find the best family. Her requirements: a loving family, a soft bed to nap on and most importantly endless belly rubs and ear scratches. In return she promises to provide you a life filled with laughter, love, and puppy kisses! When not trying to get attention from her humans, Pru loves chasing tennis balls and chewing on chew toys. She also loves the great outdoors, especially when it means a game of chase with her brother. Due to her high prey drive, we haven’t had her interacting with her foster feline siblings. She’s still such a puppy. We don’t think she’d intentionally hurt them but she doesn’t have the “off switch” of more mature dog. In her foster home, Pru is working hard on her crate training and potty training! We think Pru is one smart cookie. Speaking of cookies, this lady loves her treats so training her should be easy. Are you looking for a mellow, laid back gal, who just wants to please her people and asks for nothing but love in return?? Then look no further and meet Jan!Jan is an adult female mixed breed who weighs in at around 55 pounds. Sadly, Jan spent her entire life in a shelter and found herself at risk of euthanasia when the shelter had to close their doors. Luckily for Jan, an AHF foster stepped up and was able to save Jan just in time! While Jan can be timid/shy at first, she warms up quickly and once she does, wherever you go, she won't be far behind. She is currently fostered with several other dogs of both genders and various sizes- and while she's not over the top playful, she does get along great with them and is very respectful of them. Aside from dogs, she is also cat friendly & kid friendly (she loves giving kisses to her 1 year old human foster sister). Jan is potty trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on leash. If you're looking for an old soul (with an occasional moment of spunk here and there) in a young body, Jan is your girl! She's just a perfect little lady and has so much love to offer. Just like the classic debate- Left Twix versus Right Twix... both sides together ARE THE BEST!!! I am the same way, I am sweet on one side and salty on the other- together we are perfect! I have a tale to tell, however, none of it matters anymore because I am here right now to tell you- the best is yet to come! I am a big love bug, and although I can be nervous at first- I settle in quickly to be just a big couch potato! I am good with other dogs and would love to have a friend for life in my forever home. I am good with calm older dogs, not much for puppy energy all.the.time... :) I love kids, and would be great with school aged/teenagers (and not many others LIKE teenagers so I can be their buddy :) and would be good in a calmer/quieter home. I want so much to please my family and will look to you for love and attention. I also need a strong leadership family- I have tried to take over control in my first adoptive home and it was not appreciated. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Prince.  This handsome boy was shot and left for dead in a dumpster.  Somehow this brave boy managed to crawl out.  When he was found he had curled up on a couch, gave up, waiting for death.  A volunteer was contacted and we rushed him to the vet. He was shot in the eye, the bullet grazed his brain and lodged in his chest.  He came in with a severe infection in both the eye.  After a week in the ICU, a plasma transfusion and eye removal he is ready for a new home.   Prince is great on a leash, absolutely loves people and is very friendly.  Playing in the water is a favorite hobby of his. However he is cat reactive and needs to be in a cat-free home.  He constantly wants to be with his people.  He will need a privacy or 6 foot fence where he can run safely. Prince was born around 11/2021 and he weighs 50 pounds.  HIs adoption fee is $300.  You can apply for Prince at www.adoggie4you.org.   This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225   .
