Story
Colton has charmed just about everyone on the PAWS team, staffers and volunteer dog walkers alike, since his arrival at our shelter. He was helped by a Good Samaritan and is now thriving in our program. Colton is a big, beautiful boy, and he seems to be great with people. He’s about 1.5 years old and is just a really wonderful, social, warm dog who loves to play and hang out with you. We have not had a chance to evaluate him one-on-one with other dogs but hope to do that soon.

Story
OK, first — yes, Muggs is a girl dog! And, no, we don’t know how a girl dog got that name. We do know that Muggs is a smart, loving companion whose love language is looking out for her peeps.  As a Rottweiler mix, Muggs is a protector by nature. Back in the day, the Roman legions used Rottweilers to guard their camps. That badass heritage has, shall we say, pros and cons in this modern age. Muggs, for example, won’t do well in a house with young kids she feels compelled to protect from all evildoers – like, you know, the Amazon guy or your next-door neighbor. This sweetheart’s ideal forever home will have a peaceful, predictable rhythm with familiar visitors, minimal visits from strangers, and perhaps another dog. Muggs will be a delightful companion for someone who can provide this environment. Age: 3 years Weight: 70 lbs Temperament: Good with dogs, can be reactive to strangers, particularly men.     Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines.   Training: Crate-trained, house trained, knows commands. To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.January 30, 2025, 1:12 pm

Story
Bella is so beautiful and full of life. She's a sweet dog that loves to play with her sister Cersei. I hate to split them up but after my divorce, it's been hard taking care of her. I'm working and traveling for work which prevents lots of play time and attention she deserves. I want her to find a loving family because she will fit right in in any environment. She's people and pet friendly and is also good with kids.

Story
Cersei is my 3 yr old rotweiller baby. She and her sister Bella are really close but unfortunately after my divorce it has become extremely hard to care for them with my hectic work schedule. She's loving and friendly but I'm working and traveling alot for business and can't spend the time with her she deserves. I just want a caring loving home for her with someone who can give her that love.

Story
My Rotty is 5 years old. He is not fixed because I had planned on breeding him. He’s a sweet boy just needs someone who can work with him and give him more time. He loves being outside and playing fetch with his tennis balls. My job has got me working more hours a day. He hasn’t been around little children or other animals except for my older dog but they grew up together so I’m not sure how he would do.

Story
"Courtesy Post" This is not a Street Paws animal but we are assisting a family with placing their pet.  Lucky has had a very rough life so far. He needs a long term foster or furever home. We will cover all costs and supplies for a foster. He went to our vet for a thorough lookover, wound treatment and neuter. We thought for sure he was a senior however he is only 4-6 years old.   Here are the notes from the call with the vet. His liver and kidney values are good. He is a strong heartworm positive, he has an elevated white blood count (WBC), non-regenerative anemia, yeast infection on his skin and in his ears, his left ear is almost entire closed and is consider chronic, he is deaf in his left ear due to the untreated ear issues, he has limited hearing in his right ear. He will need ongoing treatment for his ears. His right testicle was atrophied. This could a tumor, diseased or maybe even cancer. We chose to neuter him to give him the best prognoisis and send it off for biopsy. He has bacteria in his urine, his fecal was negative. He has cranial nerve deficits possibly from the chronic ear issues. He has issues with his trigiminal and facial nerves, he eats funny due to this affecting the muscles, but his teeth look good. His pupils are mildly dialated and do not respond to light, blinking issues and likely optical nerve issues. He does have limited sight and smell. He is on prednisone in hopes to reduce inflamation and we hope that will also help his face, the nerve issues give hime the very excited look.  This boy is so sweet with everyone he has met. We do not feel he should be with cats. He has been with dogs and did fairly ok but due to the sight issues we think being an only pet may be best. He does love to play with his toys and his Pet Supermarket teddy bear is his favorite for now.  Adoptions are limited to an approximately 150 mile radius from Locust Grove, GA, certain circumstances may allow exceptions.  Adoption fee is $250 To apply to adopt this pet, please fill out a Preliminary Adoption Application at  https://www.streetpaws.org/home/adopt.     This application does not commit you to an adoption. It is used to screen those interested to make sure the home is a good match for the pet and your family. We verify vet history on current/previous pets to ensure pets have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated annually. Please call your vet to give permission for us to call them. If more information is needed regarding the pet email info@streetpaws.org. You must complete the pre-application to obtain approval to meet the pet.  March 10, 2025, 2:39 pm
