Story
I got Remy from the shelter about 7 months ago. I wanted a friend for my current dog but I am unable to take care of both. She’s really sweet. She loves to cuddle and be pet. She loves anybody she meets. She plays well with other dogs but would rather be an only child.

Story
OK, first — yes, Muggs is a girl dog! And, no, we don’t know how a girl dog got that name. We do know that Muggs is a smart, loving companion whose love language is looking out for her peeps.  As a Rottweiler mix, Muggs is a protector by nature. Back in the day, the Roman legions used Rottweilers to guard their camps. That badass heritage has, shall we say, pros and cons in this modern age. Muggs, for example, won’t do well in a house with young kids she feels compelled to protect from all evildoers – like, you know, the Amazon guy or your next-door neighbor. This sweetheart’s ideal forever home will have a peaceful, predictable rhythm with familiar visitors, minimal visits from strangers, and perhaps another dog. Muggs will be a delightful companion for someone who can provide this environment. Age: 3 years Weight: 70 lbs Temperament: Good with dogs, can be reactive to strangers, particularly men.     Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines.   Training: Crate-trained, house trained, knows commands. To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.January 30, 2025, 1:12 pm

Story
Please say hello to this handsome young gentleman named Zion! Zion arrived at the shelter on 12/14 as a lost little boy. Zion is darling, very sweet, quiet and very cute. He is slowly adjusting to his new surroundings despite being placed in a loud, overcrowded shelter. He is simply gorgeous! He is super intelligent as he knows how to sit pretty well, stays, shake, and lay down. Perfect package! He is eager to please and a natural at learning new things. Zion is current on vaccines and neutered; he will be micro-chipped upon adoption. He tested negative for heart worms. Zion is a nice size of 39 pounds and he is just a year old. So he is still pretty young. He is more than ready to meet his new family. You will find Zion patiently waiting for you in Run 22. Zion's ID# is 6976. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Shannon is a young athletic Rottweiler/ Pointer mix looking for her forever family! She has a beautiful coat, and an athletic build! Shannon is estimated to be around 1yr old, and weighs 55lbs. She is dog friendly, and very playful. Shannon is working on her house training, crate training, and is learning her basic commands. She has a sweet and friendly personality. This deserving girl was picked up as a stray, then ended up at Walton Animal Control. She soon came down with a respiratory illness. BarkVille Dog Rescue pulled her, and she is now fully healthy and vetted, and ready for her forever family. Shannon has a medium energy level, and would benefit from a family who will provide her basic training and regular exercise. She can jump very high, and will need a tall privacy fenced yard, and owners who will keep an eye on this mischievous girl. Shannon would likely excel with agility training! Since she still needs to fine tune her manners, no small kids for this girl. If you&#39re interested in adopting Shannon, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.November 3, 2024, 9:25 pm

Story
I need to rehome my one year old female Rottweiler puppy Roxie. She was my boyfriend’s dog but he could not keep her. I cannot keep her any longer because I am caring for sick elderly parents with mobility issues. She was born with a front left leg deformity but walks fine. She is up to date with vaccinations. She loves belly rubs. She loves chewing on bones, chew toys and tennis balls. She is still working on potty training and leash training. She goes potty outside in the grass with a leash. She knows the command sit, lay down, and up up the bed.

Story
Oakley is a two-year-old, 60-pound Doberman mix, maybe purebred without ears cropped. A shelter picked him up before Christmas with what seemed to be a leg injury. X-rays showed that it was an old injury that may not need surgery. He has an appointment with our orthopedic surgeon to see what, if anything, needs to be done, but it doesn’t seem to hinder him at all. He was lucky to find a foster and has done well with housetraining and in the crate. He is great with her other two large male dogs and very affectionate with people. If you want to foster or adopt Oakley, please go to www.atlantalabrescue.com and apply. ##2267972##

Story
Forrest is a happy and energetic dog that loves to run around and be with his human. He is timid and shy at first, but being patient with him yields all the love you could ever hope for from a loyal companion. I found Forrest on the side of the road dehydrated, malnourished and riddled with worms as a ~4 month old puppy. He is ~10 months old now. Forrest is very food motivated and has had formal obedience training. Forrest will quickly warm up to whoever shows him love and gives him treats, but his personality requires activity. Forrest has been a great running partner for myself - easily running 4 miles, and would fit perfectly with anyone with an active, outdoors lifestyle.
