Story
Meet Bruce: A Resilient Companion Ready to Learn and LoveIntroducing Bruce, a courageous dog who has overcome the challenges of a hoarding situation and is now seeking a loving forever home. Bruce`s journey hasn`t been easy, and as a result, he may not have received the socialization he needed during his early years. However, his resilience shines through, and he is ready to embark on a new chapter filled with learning, growth, and abundant love.Bruce is a handsome and unique mixed breed dog, with a striking presence that captures attention. His individual characteristics showcase his strength and determination. Bruce may initially be wary of new people and environments due to his limited socialization. However, with patience, understanding, and positive reinforcement, he has the potential to become a loyal and loving companion. He is eager to learn, and with time, he will gain confidence and develop trusting relationships with his new family. Bruce`s past does not define him; it merely illustrates his resilience and capacity for growth. As Bruce may not have experienced proper socialization, it`s essential to approach his training with compassion and gentleness. A calm and consistent environment, along with positive reinforcement techniques, will help him build trust and develop social skills. Gradual exposure to new experiences and people, with guidance and patience, will help Bruce become a well-rounded and sociable dog.Ideal Home:Bruce would thrive in a calm and understanding home environment. A patient and dedicated owner who can provide a structured routine and consistent training will help him blossom. An experienced dog owner who understands the specific needs of a dog who lacks socialization would be ideal for Bruce. A quiet home without young children or other pets would provide him with the stability and focused attention he requires. On the other hand, Bruce might do well with a highly socialized and confident emotional support dog of his own.Adopting Bruce is a commitment that requires time, patience, and understanding. A dedicated owner who can invest in his training, socialization, and overall well-being will be rewarded with a loyal and loving companion. Regular exercise, mental stimulation, and a safe, secure environment are essential for his happiness and growth.Together, we can help Bruce rewrite his story and create a brighter future filled with love and trust.

Story
Meet Marshmellow! He is a 3 year old Rottweiler/Lab mix who is eager to find a home to call his own. Marshmellow is strong on a leash but we are working on that. He does well with other dogs and due to his size, older kids (10+) would probably be best. Marshmellow sometimes thinks he is a lap dog. He enjoys exploring in the play yard and playing with toys. Marshmellow is currently in a 10-week training program with The Greyhound Advancement Center. He is learning basic and intermediate obedience and fun skills! If you think Marshmellow is the one for you, you can submit an Adoption Application. He will graduate the program on February 21st, 2025. Adoption Fee is $200. Applications can be found at: www.humanelake.com/dogs

Story
Maggie is looking for her FOREVER HOME! We rescued this sweetheart a couple weeks ago from Hernando County Animal Services. She was a volunteer favorite. She had been brought into the shelter when her elderly owner became sick and went into the hospital. She doesn’t let this get her down as she is the happiest pup and loves everyone she meets. Let’s share her post far and wide to get her into a PERFECT Happily Ever After by Christmas! Maggie is a 4 year old (appears to be a Rottweiler/ Hound mix) she weighs 75 lbs. she is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date with shots. She is dog friendly, potty trained and crate trained. She is extremely sweet and loving and craves attention and a person of her own. She thinks she is a 20 lb lap dog. She is very Special and will make some lucky family a wonderful companion!! She is in a loving foster home with in Crystal River, Florida. If you are interested in meeting this sweetheart please go to our website at rescuedogsdream.com and complete an application. Background check, reference and vet checks will be completed prior to meeting.

Story
Great news! My heartworm treatment is sponsored, meaning much of the cost of my heartworm treatment will be covered! Adopt me today so I can begin my treatment. From his foster mom- King is an absolute love and wants to be close to you at all times. He will protect his property and his person with a loud woof but at the end of the day, all he wants is to be pet and to lay at your feet. He gets along great with larger dogs, unsure about dogs that are significantly smaller. (My smallest that he interacted with is a 35 pound doodle) He does have a strong prey drive and would not do well in a house with cats or small animals. Due to his size and his inability to comprehend his size, I would suggest no small children that he could easily knock over. He is crate trained to sleep and eat in his crate. He does not appear to resource guard his toys. He will continue to drink water until you cut him off which can lead to accidents if he is not taken out regularly. He would benefit from some obedience training to work on his leash manners but is very treat motivated and would likely enjoy the attention.
