Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact SSRR (Adoptions@southernstatesrescuedrottweilers.org) for more information about this pet.                    Meet Rufus! Rufus is the bestest goofy  boy!  He still has plenty of puppy energy and enjoys running around, playing outside, chasing balls and showing toys who's boss.  Stuffed toys don't stand a chance against Rufus but it definitely isn't his fault, they clearly "spontaneously combusted," or at least that's what he told me!   Rufus is eager to please and quick to pick up new training skills.  He can obey commands both verbally and with hand signals.  At some point before coming into the rescue/becoming a stray I would say he definitely had some type of formal training.  Rufus gets easily distracted especially in new environments but with continued training and time, I believe he will be excellent with his manners. Rufus loves absolutely everyone he meets!  He is being fostered in a home with a crawling infant and crazy 3 year old and has nothing but affection and patience for them.  Giving kisses is one of his favorite things when it comes to tiny humans.  Keep in mind that he is still a puppy and clearly has no idea how big he and lacks any kind of grace.  He plays excellent with younger children and toys, often playing tug of war with my toddler.  Rufus has no toy aggression and both his foster parents, foster dog and human siblings can take a toy from him with no issues at all.   Rufus is excellent with all dogs (medium to large breeds) that have come in and out of my house.  He is a very active dog who loves to play with his whole body so keep in mind he can become easily annoying to older dogs.  With that being said he is submissive and takes correction from other dogs easily.  He shares toys easily and enjoys playing chase! Rufus is crate trained and can rest in his crate without whining or trying to break out.  He knows his crate command and will easily enter at his own will.  He loves all food, especially fruits and vegetables!  Rufus is also potty trained and although his foster family almost always has someone home he can be in the crate for several hours without issue.   Although Rufus is a bundle of energy he also is a wonderful snuggly boy who loves any and all affection. Rufus will make an excellent addition to any home and can't wait to join your family!!      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact SSRR (Adoptions@southernstatesrescuedrottweilers.org) for more information about this pet.                        Bandit started his life as an outside only dog who didn't know his name or any commands. Now he knows his name, how to sit, down, shake and come. He has been housebroken, leash trained. He has learned to signal when he needs to go potty. He is eager to learn during training sessions. Bandit is the sweetest and goofiest dog you've ever met. He loves people and wants to be wherever you are. If you are looking for a Velcro dog, look no further Bandit is your man.  He knows where all the houses are on his walks and where people will pet him. He will stop and wait for them. He is an energetic boy and loves to go on walks. He can play all day if you let him. Bandit discovered very quickly that he loves the couch and is content to lay down with you on it. He’s very gentle with small children that he meets on his walks. He does not jump, or push them at all. He will just stay right there while they pet him. He  is your typical large breed dog who has no concept of his size and firmly believes that he is a lapdog, which he is. Bandit is very curious about everything and doesn’t seem to be scared of much, if anything. He does really well with his schedule and would really benefit from a family that has a regular schedule or is home fairly often. He is still an energetic and active boy since he’s still young. He will need regular exercise. If he wants to go on a walk, he will go get his leash and let you know. Bandit will be a GREAT addition to any family and will be the most loyal dog that you have ever had. Bandit was adopted in November.  His dad passed away shortly thereafter.  His mom loves Bandit, but he is too large for her to handle.  He is fine as long as they are home. Unfortunately, she does do not have anyone who can currently help her with him. If his dad were here, this wouldn't be necessary. Bandit doesn't like being outside by himself.  He loves his crate and doesn't mind being in there, but loves to be in the "big bed" much more.    Upon approval to adopt, you will be sent SSRR Decompression and Introduction requirements that we require ALL of our adopters to follow . Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact SSRR (Adoptions@southernstatesrescuedrottweilers.org) for more information about this pet.                      Hey there! My name is Chyna, aka Chinese Food, aka Food, and I am a very special girl! I came from the back woods of Louisiana where I lived with my owner. Just him and me every day. That being said, I am a Velcro dog through and through. Wherever you are, I want to be.   I do tend to get under foot at times and I'm very clumsy, I hit my head on the walls because I have zero depth perception. One of my eyes seems to have a cherry in it, which should just be a cosmetic fix. One of my past times is giving hugs, I like to sit on my bum and just wrap my front legs around you! You are sitting on the couch, leg hugs, getting ready in the bathroom, leg hugs, doing laundry, leg hugs!   I am a very goofy girl. I love to play with other dogs and plush toys as well. I have the basic training, but I could always use more! I would love to meet my forever family! I do have six other dogs I live with, so I am well socialized! I am ready to leave the nest and spread my wings!     Upon approval to adopt, you will be sent SSRR Decompression and Introduction requirements that we require ALL of our adopters to follow . Story
Howdy, friend! My name’s Rio, and I’m a 7-year-old, 59-pound Rottweiler Shepherd mix with a heart as big as my paws! Life’s thrown me some curveballs, but I’ve never let it dim my spirit. You see, I came from a rough past where I wasn’t treated kindly, and I still carry the scars from an embedded collar. After that, I spent over a year at Waldron Animal Control, waiting and hoping for someone to give me a chance. But you know what? I never lost my love for people, and I’ve been wagging my tail through it all, dreaming of the day I get to go home with a family who will love me forever.I’m a big ol’ sweetheart who loves belly rubs, giving my paw, and just being close to my humans. I’d make an excellent couch buddy—I’d love nothing more than to snuggle up with you, watch some TV, and soak up all the love you’re willing to give. I walk nicely on a leash, know how to use a doggie door, and load up in the car like a champ. I’m also crate-trained and always try my best to be on my best behavior.I’m gentle, especially with the elderly, and I’ve got that special kind of charm that makes people smile. I might not be a puppy anymore, but I’ve got plenty of love left to give, and I promise to be the most loyal companion you could ever ask for.I just need someone to see me, really see me—to look past my scars and into my heart. Because I’ve been waiting so long, and I know, deep down, that my perfect family is out there somewhere. Could it be you? If you’re looking for a best friend who will love you with his whole heart, I’m your guy. Come meet me today—I’ll be right here, tail waggin’, waiting for you. ❤️🐾 Please pick me! You can also call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to find out more about me.****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. If not already spayed/neutered, there may be a short delay between when you select this pet and when they are ready to go home.Breed and age are determined based on observable physical traits. Story
I was wondering if you knew of a good home person who would be interested in taking our rott. I have a 3.5 year old male that is nurtured . The good; he has had some obedience training, very early. He has very good recall if you stay on him. He is more of a ladies man. He loves to go for rides. The bad; he tore both ACLs at 1 year old. He had surgery on one leg, that was hard on him and his demeanor. He is not house trained. He is overly protective at home. ( not so much in other places). He needs more socialization. He did get along fine our older boys but seems to be unpredictable. he’s getting too protective crossing over to aggressive. So I don’t allow others around him any more. He weights about 100lbs. The injuries and surgery kept him from should having the training and socialization he needed. I think with a breed knowledgeable person, he would be fine. I need to find him a good home. I want the best for him and we cant have him inside with our kids.
