Story
Toby is a fascinating 7-year-old Redbone Coonhound mix with a longing to find the right home. He prefers a quiet environment where he can relax and settle down, and he is happy to receive attention from his human companion. Toby has some very special needs that would require a caring, patient owner to look after him. He is on a fish-only diet and is happiest when he receives his special treats. Toby has also dealt with ear, eye, and skin infection issues in the past and has received medication for these. At Four Footed Friends he tends to act with a more aggressive disposition towards the other dogs and would do best in a home where he is the only canine friend. His demeanor and temperament is similar to that of most hounds. With the proper patience and attention after adoption, we believe Toby would make a phenomenal pet for his owner. If you think you can provide Toby with a forever home, please reach out and contact Four Footed Friends at (724) 349-1144 or fourfootedfriends82@gmail.com. You can also visit https://www.fourfootedfriends.org/ for more information on our organization and other pets we have available for adoption. As always, you are welcome to come into our shelter for a visit with any of our dogs to see if they might be the right fit! Follow us on Facebook for updates and feel free to message us there as well.

Story
Meet Rusty, the lovable goofball who's always ready to bring a smile to your face! This sweet boy has a heart full of love and a playful spirit that will brighten your day. Rusty absolutely adores tennis balls-he could play fetch all day if you'd let him-and his favorite thing in the world is romping around in the water, splashing and having the time of his life. He's not just about play, though. Rusty also has a tender side and loves to cuddle up with you after a day of fun. Rusty is incredibly friendly, both with people and other dogs. He gets along great with his furry pals and would love to have a canine friend to play with. Whether you're out for a walk, playing fetch at the park, or just hanging out at home, Rusty is happy to be by your side, always bringing joy and companionship. If you're looking for a dog who's the perfect mix of playful and affectionate, Rusty is the one for you! He's ready to find his forever home and can't wait to meet his new family. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Hello! My name is Rufus. I am handsome, goofy, and a loveable guy through and through. I was surrendered by my previous family for being too much for their health. I am a bigger guy, I am very energetic, and I like to have fun! I am talkative and loud, I love to go on walks and enjoy the sunshine, and I am always happiest when I am with my person. My previous family said I love kids! I would do better with older kids, because I tend to bulldoze kids over (I forget how big I am when I`m excited) and when they fall over, I hang my head and get real sad. I love car rides and trying new treats. I am very housebroken too! I also lived with cats before and loved to play with them if you can believe it! I`m a sweet fella and I am so lonely here without a family to call my own...come meet me today! If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog`s better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes:- initial canine distemper combination vaccination- first worming or stool check- rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age)- 24 Petwatch microchipping- flea treatment/preventative- spaying or neutering-heartworm testingAdoption fee: $135.00Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2024 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. The cost of the license is $9.20. (Senior Citizen or Person with Disability-$7.20)Leash and collar included

Story
Chuck (formerly Duke) did not spend long at the shelter before a family fell in love with him and is currently fostering him until a more suitable home is found. Chuck is obedient — knows commands: sit, lay, paw, come, leave it, stay and his name — friendly, housebroken and generally easy to manage, but living with small children is not ideal for him in the long run. Chuck likes his chews, his toys and his space which sometimes is breached by well-meaning children who want to love him at inappropriate times. He is a friendly dog and loves other dogs as well! Originally surrendered by his owner who was moving, Chuck was at a local pound in WV until he was seen walking through the ER doors of a nearby hospital and spotted by one of the shelter’s volunteers. The ER staff said he had been coming in for a week. Estimated between 2 and 4 years old and is approximately 55 lbs. We will be happy to arrange for you to meet Chuck by appointment while he hangs with his foster family till he can call some new place home.
