Story
Zuzu is a 7-month-old rat terrier mix weighing about 30 pounds. She is a very sweet and sensitive puppy looking for a calm and patient home. Once she trusts you, she is incredibly affectionate and loves being close to her person following you around the house and curling up at your feet. She does great with other dogs and cats and would likely do best in a home with a confident canine companion. Zuzu is still very shy with new people and environments, so she will need someone patient who understands fearful dogs and is willing to help her continue building confidence. She is just a gentle, timid girl who needs time, love, and understanding to truly blossom. Best fit: • Calm, patient home (preferably female-only) • Experience with shy or fearful dogs • Another friendly dog is a plus Ideally a large fenced in yard. Zuzu is struggling to walk on a leash. We love her very much, but after four months she has not been able to warm up to my husband.

Story
Meet Geenie If you’re looking for the perfect mix of playful energy and snuggly sweetness, Geenie might just be your girl. This young, ~11 lb terrier mix is the definition of fun meets affection. She loves to run, play, and keep herself entertained with just about any toy she can find—but when the fun is over, she’s all about curling up right next to you for a cozy nap.  Play Hard, Snuggle Harder.  Geenie is a toy enthusiast through and through—especially when it comes to stuffies (fair warning: they may not survive long). Whether she’s zooming around the yard, going for walks, or proudly showing off her latest “prize,” she brings a joyful, playful energy to every day.  But her favorite place is right next to you, head in your lap, soaking up all the love. Personality & Social Life Very social and loves people Great with other dogs No known aggression or resource guarding Not a big barker Easygoing and adaptable She’s the kind of dog who fits into a home quickly and just wants to be part of whatever you’re doing.  Daily Life with Geenie Geenie has a really nice moderate energy level: Playtime and activity? Yes please. Chill time and naps? Also yes. She enjoys running and playing in the morning, settles nicely during the day (often choosing to nap in her space), and is ready for attention and snuggles when you’re home.  She’s been doing well with: Crate training (especially overnight) Leash walking Learning routines What She’s Still Working On: Geenie is about 75% potty trained—she understands what to do when taken out, but she’s still working on letting you know when she needs to go. With consistency, she’s set up for success.  Why You’ll Love Her: Because Geenie is: Playful and entertaining Sweet and affectionate Easy to have around A perfect balance of active + cuddly She’s the kind of dog who will make you laugh during the day—and then quietly curl up beside you at night. The Bottom Line - Whether you’re a single person, a couple, or a family, Geenie is an easy dog to love and will happily become part of your daily life. If you’re looking for a small dog with personality, playfulness, and a whole lot of heart… Geenie is ready to meet you. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.   The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. Story
Jaxon is from Texas. He was found there, wandering in an industrial area, presumably abandoned. He was brought into rescue after his stray hold was up, and now it's time to find him a home of his own here in Minnesota. Jaxon is a sweet young dog, with lots of energy and a sweet and spunky personality. He loves his people with his whole heart. He will steal their shoes, not to chew, but to cuddle up with in his kennel or dog bed. He will consistently seek out his people for affection. Jaxon is mostly potty trained, but has marking incidents. He has just recently been neutered, and should most likely lose that urge to mark. Belly bands have been the solution for his Texan foster family, butt hey should not be needed long term. Jaxon is crate trained and sleeps in a crate in his foster family's bedroom at night. Jaxon is less enthusiastic about going into the kennel during the day when his people need to leave, but will settle nicely if given a treat filled kong or other sort of enrichment activity while kenneled. Jaxon will also walk on a leash, but needs his leash manners polished. Jaxon is looking for a family that will incorporate him into their busy lives. Taking him for nightly walks to explore his new home, and cuddling up on the couch with him while watching a movie to relax. Any place is a good place as long as his people are there with him. If you think you could give Jaxon the soft spot he's looking for, please fill out an adoption application today.. he can't wait to meet you! They arrive in Minnesota on 4/11/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of A8:30am and noon. Story
Teacup came into rescue when the family of her late owner needed to give her up after caring for her for a few years. She is on her way to Minnesota for a fresh start and looking for a soft place to land! Teacup has some basic training skills down, but may need a little support finishing up housetraining; especially in a new place! She has been quiet in her foster home and a bit cautious with new friends, so slow introductions and lots of reassurance will be great! Her energy level has been low so far, but she has mostly been recovering from her spay surgery while in foster care. She is an even-keel gal who loves to snuggle on your lap and may prefer a quieter home to a busy one. Teacup is ready to settle in and be your new best friend! Teacup is from Texas. Story
Hi, I’m Aeryn! 💕 I’m settling into my foster home really well and I bond super quickly with my person—I’ll just love having someone to call my own soon. I’m still working on potty training (hey, I’m trying my best … it’s 50/50 right now!), and I’ve got the hang of using a pee pad, but going outside is my next big goal. I might be a little quick and sneaky sometimes… but that just keeps things interesting, right? 😉 Leash walking is still a bit confusing for me. I tend to trail behind, and when you stop, I’ll climb right up your leg like, “Hi! Can you carry me instead?” Honestly, I just really like being close to you. As I’m feeling more comfortable in my foster home, I even feel the need for some zoomies ocasdionally. I have a great appetite, love my naps, and enjoy playing with toys—or gently with your hand. I’m also a smart girl and already learning to sit (especially when treats are involved… yum!). I figured out the ramp and steps to the bed and couch super fast, so I can always be right by your side. My absolute favorite thing? Giving kisses! 💋 I’d be happy with a calm, low-key dog friend, but I’d also be perfectly content as your one and only, soaking up all the love and attention.

Story
Hi, I’m Cinch! I’m a happy little guy who loves being close to my people. If you’re looking for a best friend to take everywhere, I might be your perfect match — just be ready for a cute little shadow following you around all day! I’ve been friendly with everyone I’ve met so far, and I especially love kids. I’m a total cuddle bug who loves sitting on laps, giving kisses, and snuggling under a blanket or near your feet while you work. Being close to my people is definitely my favorite thing. I’m also playful and silly! I love toys, get the zoomies, and sometimes slide across the carpet while chewing on my toy. I’ve done great with the resident dog in my foster home and would love a buddy to play with. I’m very food motivated, which should make me a smart and trainable little guy. Loud noises outside can make me a little nervous sometimes, but I’m still learning that the world is a safe place. I’ve been told I look like a little mouse with the sweetest puppy dog eyes, and honestly, I think that fits me pretty well. I’m just a loving, friendly little guy looking for a home where I can be your loyal companion and favorite snuggle buddy. ---- *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue.
