Story
Meet Blackie– the ultimate lap dog! Blackie is a sweet, affectionate 9 year-old Terrier mix who’s happiest when snuggled up in your lap for a long nap or lounging by your side for some quality bonding time. He’s the kind of dog that brings quiet joy to a home—calm, loyal, and eager to love his human. Within hours of arriving at his foster home, Blackie was happily asking for back scratches and cozy lap time, proving just how quickly he bonds with those he trusts.Blackie is fully house-trained and a polite little gentleman when it comes to potty breaks—he’s happy to go on leash or explore the yard. He’s also crate-trained and willingly goes into his crate at night or when needed. While he does bark for a bit when his foster mom leaves for work, but will quickly settle in for his daily naps.Blackie is mild-mannered and doesn’t require a high level of activity—just a quick walk around the yard or a short stroll will do. He loves sniffing out new smells during his explorations and makes the cutest little grunting sounds while doing so, guaranteed to make you smile! He’s still getting used to life with other dogs and seems a bit nervous around them, so he may prefer to be the only pet in his forever home or introduced slowly to resident dogs. He’s shown no interest in cats during brief encounters and would likely do fine in a calm, quiet environment.Blackie is a gentle soul who wants nothing more than to love and be loved in return. If you’re looking for a loyal, cuddly, and easygoing companion, Blackie is ready to fill your life with quiet joy, laughter (thanks to his cute little habits), and unconditional love. He’s patiently waiting for the perfect lap to call his forever home—could it be yours?https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $250. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.

Story
Meet Agatha! **Getting spayed Dec. 16- can be adopted Dec. 19** Agatha is a 16-pound, terrier mix. She is a quiet dog who enjoys going for walks except when it gets extremely cold. She does well on a leash, often taking time to enjoy the scenery and smells along the way. She is friendly to the people she meets as well as other dogs. Cats unknown. She likes to eat snow. Aggie-girl is smart and loves to do food puzzles. She is a cuddler and loves to be on your lap as well as follow you around the house! She is fully potty trained with timed outings typically every 3-4 hours. The longest she has been left alone is 8 hours, all without an accident. She is good with baths. Agatha enjoys playing with her squeaky stuffed animals and likes to play with the rope tug with her humans. Sometimes she likes to soft bite your hand. When this happens, giving her a soft chew toy helps fulfill that need. You may remember Agatha as she was found on the highway with horrible skin. She has been going through treatment and lots of baths. She now has fur and doing well. Agatha is getting spayed on Dec. 18 and can be adopted on Dec. 21. Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $300 plus tax.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxBooBoo is a young adult terrier mix who just lost his home when his owner passed away. BooBoo has been living with other dogs and does ok. He does need a minute to warm up to new people however at this time that may just be a reaction to all that has changed in his life in the last few days. BooBoo would enjoy a mellow home where he can continue getting over his past and begin thriving for his future. If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks. Our Adoption fees for all animals cover required vetting: which includes, Rabies, Distemper Vaccine Series, Bordetella, Deworming, Heartworm Test as age appropriate, Spay or Neuter and Microchip and registration. Adoption Fees are Non Negotialble. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Millie is a small bundle of fun! She is spunky fun and loving all wrapped in one! She’s good on a lease, fully house broke, gets along with all dogs & cats. Loves humans big and small. She loves to play with her toys and chew on her bones then snuggle up on your lap for a snooze or crawl under your blankets at night. She would flourish in a home with another dog to play with. Millie's adoption fee is $425 plus MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations appropriate at the time of adoption, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue's care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website www.northernlakesrescue.org

Story
We are a retired couple. We have been traveling extensively and just bought a home in Gulfport. All the traveling is hard on Chachi, he needs a place to be without moving around so much. Chachi is a loving little dog who loves to snuggle with you. He can be on his own at home. He likes his "home" kennel. He is good with people once he gets to know them, same with kids. At first he can be very nervous and barking at strangers. He is good on walks and is overjoyed to ride in the car. He is mostly good with other dogs, sometimes barks at larger black dogs. He came from Texas where he was raised by a family that could no longer keep him. We have had him three years and we do love him, but think he needs a more stable home life. Not so much traveling around.
