Story
Rosie is a very sweet companion. She is just a happy, easy-going dog. She is very loving and will happily cuddle on the couch for hours. She loves to burrow in blankets to stay warm. She is equally happy to go on adventures and loves walks. She basically loves anything that involves being with her human. She is very smart and highly food motivated. She will do almost anything for a treat and knows multiple tricks. She does have "selective hearing" and will sometimes ignore commands if you do not have a reward. She loves to play fetch, especially when a tennis ball is rolled so she can chase it. Rosie has lived with two different cats in different homes and has gotten along well with both so I believe she would be just fine with a cat in the house. Rosie does not do well with small children as she does not like loud noises or unpredictable movements. She does well with some dogs and not others so I believe she would do best as an only dog. I will provide all her items upon adoption.

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=44, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46) completely. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
My name is Midgie and I'm a very sweet and smart 6-year-old, 17 lb. female rat terrier who just wants to play, love, and be loved!I have a beautiful thick coat and a cute curly tail. I am treat-motivated and know a variety of commands such as sit, lie down, off, wait, leave it, go to (get in) crate, come, quiet/no barking. I'm not shy, but I'm usually quite quiet – unless I hear a suspected intruder. I am trustworthy on my own in the house, but I am crate-trained too. I love to chew on toys, and peanut-butter filled Kongs though I'm very respectful and don't chew on anything else.I have been an only dog in the past, but I really love having my foster siblings to play with! I get along well with just about everyone and I like to stay active. Sometimes I don't pick up cues right away when my friends don't want to play. Big dogs can make me a little nervous at first, but I feel fine around dogs my size and my prior family said I do fine with cats.I give gentle kisses and enjoy snuggling up next to my person – especially while sleeping under the covers in bed. During the day I am fully house-trained and have no issues, though I have had a few accidents in the middle of the night during my adjustment period. Despite that, I am a very good girl and have irresistible charm. I ride well in a car and walk well on a leash. I'm exceptionally easy-going and adapt quickly to new surroundings. While I am having a great time in my foster home, I would really love to find forever family and bring them lots of love and joy.Check out some of my glamour shots here: https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/midgie  Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old.
