Story
Meet Catherine (or as her foster family affectionately refers to her as "Catie") This little lady is petite and sweet weighing approximately 10 lbs. Her exact age is unknown, be we estimate between 4-6 years old. She LOVES her foster mom. She follows her around like a little shadow and can't wait for the evening when it's time to watch Wheel of Fortune. She nestles right in her foster mom's arms and just wants to snuggle. She lives in a foster home with several other dogs (big & small) and cats. The cats are no problem for her. She gets along with most of the dogs, except the resident spicy female Chihuahua. She is potty and crate trained, she is still working on leash training.    An ideal home for Catherine would be a female owner, cats OK, dogs would need slow introductions to make sure personalities meshed. She has not been tested around kids. She really is an ideal dog for an adult female with no children where Catherine can be your perfect little sidekick.  ##2359269##

Story
Violet is a sweet girl who came to New Rattitude as a stray. She is likely around 13 years old with an adorable face and a healthy weight of 13 lbs. She has mild arthritis in her back legs, but that doesn't deter her from walking or jogging around her fenced-in backyard for extensive periods of time. She walks extremely well on a leash and loves nothing better than to be outdoors! She is house-trained and sleeps in her bed at night, next to her foster parents.  Violet's personality and social skills are blossoming slowly but surely with each passing week. Although she enjoys being around her human companions, she has not yet decided whether she wants to be a 'lap dog.' She doesn't mind being picked up and eagerly greets you at the door, tail wagging away. She gets along well with her three canine siblings, though she's still unsure about playing with them. She is friendly when new people or pet sitters come to the house. She tentative with large number of stairs but is fine with a couple.  We think Violet was born partially deaf. She can hear very loud noises likes hands clapping and dogs barking, but she does not respond to quieter sounds, including human voices. Violet rarely barks, typically only when a stranger comes to the house and her siblings are not there to bark for her. If she wants to get your attention or if she gets excited, she will 'speak' by yawning loudly or yelping. She also has mild cataracts in both eyes, but her vision is fine. She does need a prescription ointment placed in each eye once per day for the rest of her life (about $65/month) and prescription eye drops twice per day (about $25/month). She also takes arthritis medication once daily and gabapentin at night to help her sleep as she has had a few short seizures. The seizures have occurred about once a month and last about 10 seconds while she cries loudly, then a little disoriented for about 15 seconds. She may pee in her bed when this happens but otherwise does all her business outside. She will go to the door when she needs to go potty and when in a fenced yard she will scratch to come inside. Violet is a very special lady looking for her loving home with you. For more photos of her, please visit https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/violetv. Beginning March 1, 2025, our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs or $300 for puppies under 6 months old. If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. NewRattitude.org/adopt/  From there, you can access our adoption application or contact our Adoption Team for more info. April 20, 2025, 1:13 pm

Story
***Lucky is in a foster home right now, so she is not at the kennel. If you are interested in her, please fill out an application at K9stray.com and we will be in touch. Thank you.*** Lucky is a sweet senior girl. She is estimated to be about 12 years old. She loves to go for walks and loves to sniff around the yard. Lucky especially loves to snuggle in next to you on the couch or a chair and go for car rides. She isn't outwardly showing her age and still has lots of energy! She is primarily accustomed to living in a quieter home and would prefer a more mellow, predicable type home as that is what she was used to. Sadly, Lucky’s owner could no longer care for her as he had to go into a memory care facility. Lucky is feeling a little lost and confused, her foster home is quite busy, and she is looking for a quieter place. She really likes her foster dog siblings though and wouldn't mind another friend. Slow introductions to new people are recommended for her, she just needs a bit of time to trust and get to know you. Lucky sleeps well in a crate if she isn't alone in the room. She is crated next to her foster mom's dogs overnight and she does well with that. She is primarily used to sleeping in bed with someone though. Lucky really just wants to be near you, she is a lover and likes to be close to you above all else. She sure would like to find her forever home to live out her golden years and be loved by someone. If you are interested in Lucky and are at least 21 years old, please fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*
