Hi, I`m Susie! Sadly my previous owner passed away, so I was surrendered to the shelter with my friend Rosie. I am an older gal, and quite overweight, so my lifestyle needs to change in order for me to be around as long as possible. I am a very sweet and easygoing pup, and I used to live with a number of dogs, so I would likely enjoy having canine companionship again. I am not sure how I feel about cats but may do well with proper introduction. I have been in a home all my life and I just want somewhere comfortable to spend my golden years. Renee is a unique little dog that makes people tilt their heads and smile when they see her. Her crooked little underbite smile just leaves you giggling. Its crazy to think she can even eat properly but she can. This Puggle is mixed with Brussel Griffon and Pug and boy is she a sweetheart. She is a tiny, petite thing who weighs10 lbs and is the perfect lap companion. At just 4 years of age, Renee was owned by an elderly person who lost everything in the recent east coast hurricane tragedies in the month of October. So many animals were displaced during that time and we were happy to give little Renee a chance to find a new home. Her elderly mom never walked her much because she was a disabled senior and therefore Renee isn't the best on a leash at the moment. One thing she has mastered and that is being a snuggler and your best bed buddy. Rene gets along well with other dogs, she's fine with cats and in general a very easy-going girl to have around. Little Rene loves car rides and has a great desire to be a social butterfly and go places with a new owner. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application.The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. I'm here with my sissy Ava. We came from down south and now mom says we are northern implants not sure what that means but ok I'm learning new stuff every day. We have lots of friends here at the ranch. We have doxi friends that are a little older than us and mom says to not bark like they do its 'annoying' I'm not sure why she thinks that but I tried it and I thought it was rather fun so we do it when moms not in the room but somehow she always knows and she comes out of her office and gives us 'the look' hmmmm I wonder how she knows??!!!Ava is my bestest friend and we would LOVE to stick together. Mom says she will find us a furever home with a fenced yard so we can run and play like we do here! We aren't 'fixed' yet so mom says as soon as we are old enough to have that done we will be ready for our new home. I didn't know we was broken but I guess I just gotta trust the lady.... I thought maybe we could stay here but she says we will get a home where we can be the center of someones world. Humans talk funny I have NO clue what that even means! My name is Ava and I am a "northern transplant". Me and my brother took a long ride and ended up at this place they call the ranch. We have lots of friends to play with and these things called humans who always want to pick us up and smooch on us!!! We let them and then we wiggle to get down and go play! They are sort of "sissies" Alvin says because when we try to nibble on them they act like we were trying to hurt them. Alvin says maybe we should just nibble on the bones on the floor and leave the humans fingers alone since they obviously can't handle our nibbles. They apparently like to be licked so we do that just to make them happy since they seem to be the food dispensers... We have sat down with the staff and told them we would like a fenced yard when we are adopted :) 2nd Chance has promised we will not go to a one dog household we want another small dog to play with if we can't stay together!
