Hello, I`m Brock! I came to the shelter as a stray and now I am looking for my furever home. I am a very sweet and social little pup, and would be game for adventures and play. I am open to possibly living with another dog and/or cat with proper introduction. I am not very fond of sharing my treats and I have some mild handling sensitivity, so I ask that any kids in the home be 10 and older, who will respect my boundaries. I have a cool patch of white fur on my back that makes me unique, as if I could be any cuter! I am an older gal, and quite overweight, so my lifestyle needs to change in order for me to be around as long as possible. I am a very sweet and easygoing pup, and I used to live with a number of dogs, so I would likely enjoy having canine companionship again. I am not sure how I feel about cats but may do well with proper introduction. I have been in a home all my life and I just want somewhere comfortable to spend my golden years. Maggie is about a year-old pug/Jack Russel mix with the brains of a pug (zero) and the energy of a Jack Russel (infinite). She is crate trained and house trained. Maggie does well with cats and absolutely loves other dogs; essentially, she will be friends with any creature that might play with her. Maggie loves any activity that allows her to show off her boundless energy: she’ll play tug or fetch until your arm falls off, she’ll go on long walks (she especially loves being on a trail), or she’ll just use the yard to get her zoomies out. As much as she loves to romp, Maggie is equally at home cuddling up on the couch, either with her humans or her dog friends—or both! She also loves a good sun spot outside, chewing on sticks, and showing off her ridiculous underbite. While she would be an excellent match for children’s energy, she can be a bit mouthy when going for toys, so she should be monitored around very young children.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application.The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. I'm here with my sissy Ava. We came from down south and now mom says we are northern implants not sure what that means but ok I'm learning new stuff every day. We have lots of friends here at the ranch. We have doxi friends that are a little older than us and mom says to not bark like they do its 'annoying' I'm not sure why she thinks that but I tried it and I thought it was rather fun so we do it when moms not in the room but somehow she always knows and she comes out of her office and gives us 'the look' hmmmm I wonder how she knows??!!!Ava is my bestest friend and we would LOVE to stick together. Mom says she will find us a furever home with a fenced yard so we can run and play like we do here! We aren't 'fixed' yet so mom says as soon as we are old enough to have that done we will be ready for our new home. I didn't know we was broken but I guess I just gotta trust the lady.... I thought maybe we could stay here but she says we will get a home where we can be the center of someones world. Humans talk funny I have NO clue what that even means! My name is Ava and I am a "northern transplant". Me and my brother took a long ride and ended up at this place they call the ranch. We have lots of friends to play with and these things called humans who always want to pick us up and smooch on us!!! We let them and then we wiggle to get down and go play! They are sort of "sissies" Alvin says because when we try to nibble on them they act like we were trying to hurt them. Alvin says maybe we should just nibble on the bones on the floor and leave the humans fingers alone since they obviously can't handle our nibbles. They apparently like to be licked so we do that just to make them happy since they seem to be the food dispensers... We have sat down with the staff and told them we would like a fenced yard when we are adopted :) 2nd Chance has promised we will not go to a one dog household we want another small dog to play with if we can't stay together!
