Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Hellow my name is Layla I think.  I lived in a really dirty house with 148 dogs.  It wasn't very fun and it smelled REALLY bad which means I smelled really bad too :(  Here at the ranch they love us and give us spa days and really good food!  I'm still really scared I'm not used to people touching me and wanting to pick me up so I run and hide but momma Lynn says I will learn to trust it will just take a little time :)  So I would love to go with GiGi cause she is my best friend but as long as I have another small dog maybe I will be OKREQUIREMENTSAnother small dogFenced YardVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
Bear - neutered male, 1 year, 18.5 lbs. Meet Bear! Bear came to us after he was unable to continue living at his previous home. Now, Bear is ready to find himself a forever family! Bear has a lot of personality! He may be on the shorter side, but he does not let that stop him! Bear has lots of energy, he will need a home that is active. Bear loves to be outside, and does all sorts of cute little jumps and twirls when he is excited! Bear knows "sit". He does well with bigger dogs, he does not like any dog that is smaller than him. Bear would do best in a home without cats. Bear does well with older, respectful kids. If Bear is the boy for you, please fill out an application for him today! Bear is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Story
We welcomed Bruce into our home August of last least. He came from a quiet home but unfortunately they could no longer care for him. He is 2 years old. He has not adjusted well to our chaotic home. With 5 kids there is a lot going on and a lot of people in and out. Bruce does not like that. He enjoys lounging on the couch. He is a goofball that plays hard for 10-15 minutes and back to the couch. He’s a good boy but needs a calmer house.
