Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Well hellloww world Alvin here.  I'm here with my sissy Ava.  We came from down south and now mom says we are northern implants not sure what that means but ok I'm learning new stuff every day.  We have lots of friends here at the ranch.  We have doxi friends that are a little older than us and mom says to not bark like they do its 'annoying' I'm not sure why she thinks that but I tried it and I thought it was rather fun so we do it when moms not in the room but somehow she always knows and she comes out of her office and gives us 'the look' hmmmm I wonder how she knows??!!!Ava is my bestest friend and we would LOVE to stick together.  Mom says she will find us a furever home with a fenced yard so we can run and play like we do here!  We aren't 'fixed' yet so mom says as soon as we are old enough to have that done we will be ready for our new home.  I didn't know we was broken but I guess I just gotta trust the lady....  I thought maybe we could stay here but she says we will get a home where we can be the center of someones world.  Humans talk funny I have NO clue what that even means!  If you want to meet us fill out an application on 2ndChance4LifeRescue.org site NOT petfinder or anywhere else and we will check it out.  If we think you might be 'our person' we will be in touch for a date :)REQUIRES A FENCED YARDVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 14, 2024, 6:08 pm

We have sat down with the staff and told them we would like a fenced yard when we are adopted :)  2nd Chance has promised we will not go to a one dog household we want another small dog to play with if we can't stay together! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Miley Ann ALWAYS has a smile on HER face - and she will bring one to YOURS, too, if you make her part of your family.Miley transitioned easily into her foster home and from day one has wanted to be right by her foster parents’ sides.  As she has become more comfortable in her temporary home, she has shown her goofy side, too.  Miley loves, loves, loves toys  with her favorite being a simple tennis ball. While she is transitioning into her golden years, Miley loves going on walks with her people. Due to size and age, she tires after about 10 minutes so would much prefer a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood as opposed to trailblazing for the weekend. Some of Miley’s other favorite activities include: car rides, getting lots of belly rubs, and snuggling up on the couch with her humans. Miley is dog friendly but is more concerned with getting attention from her person rather than playing with a canine companion. She does have interest in cats but knows to give them space if needed. Miley has been exposed to children as young as two without issue and after a quick 'hello' proceeds to seek out attention from others. Miley is on the heavier side but is on a journey to a healthier lifestyle in her foster home. Her new home must be committed to helping her reach a healthier weight by providing a nutritious, lower calorie diet and moderate exercise. Already spayed, completely vetted, and on monthly flea/tick/heartwork preventatives, this sweet angel is all ready to find her retirement home!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet. Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs.  We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions. We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.  Thank you!November 5, 2024, 11:59 am
