You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application.The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!UPDATE 1/17/2024  Ava & Alvin are growing up at the rescue and while I agree it is a fun place to be we really like the 'youngins' to find their own homes.  If you have a fenced yard and are active then this is the one for you!!!Well hellloww world Alvin here.  I'm here with my sissy Ava.  We came from down south and now mom says we are northern implants not sure what that means but ok I'm learning new stuff every day.  We have lots of friends here at the ranch.  We have doxi friends that are a little older than us and mom says to not bark like they do its 'annoying' I'm not sure why she thinks that but I tried it and I thought it was rather fun so we do it when moms not in the room but somehow she always knows and she comes out of her office and gives us 'the look' hmmmm I wonder how she knows??!!!Ava is my bestest friend and we would LOVE to stick together.  Mom says she will find us a furever home with a fenced yard so we can run and play like we do here!  We aren't 'fixed' yet so mom says as soon as we are old enough to have that done we will be ready for our new home.  I didn't know we was broken but I guess I just gotta trust the lady....  I thought maybe we could stay here but she says we will get a home where we can be the center of someones world.  Humans talk funny I have NO clue what that even means!  If you want to meet us fill out an application on 2ndChance4LifeRescue.org site NOT petfinder or anywhere else and we will check it out.  If we think you might be 'our person' we will be in touch for a date :)REQUIRES A FENCED YARDVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We have sat down with the staff and told them we would like a fenced yard when we are adopted :)  2nd Chance has promised we will not go to a one dog household we want another small dog to play with if we can't stay together! Rosie and Diana, along with their other 3 littermates (2 males/1 more female who will be listed soon) are believed to be pug mixes. They are tiny and so precious! Rosie is more outgoing and bossy, and Diana is more laid back and snuggly, but they are both incredibly sweet! We are looking for committed adopters, willing to take their new puppy out routinely for potty breaks, who will use positive reinforcement training techniques, and adopters willing to make a lifetime adoption commitment. They are doing great with crate training, although they may regress a bit once they each go to a new home/environment. They are 8 week old puppies, so potty training is new, and frequent accidents are developmentally appropriate for this age. The puppies are microchipped, on monthly prevention, have been dewormed, and are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations for an adoption fee of $450 each. $50 will be refunded after proof of age appropriate spay.
