Story
Here is the Duke. This chunk of a boy is seeking his forever home. A bit camera shy, but a truly sweet dog. He is coming up on 11 years of age- a bit of greying and arthritis but loves his naps, walking sniffs around the yard at his leisure. Weighs 64# currently. Need to lose 10#. Good with other dogs- fed separately due to he likes to make sure all bowls are empty. No food aggression noted. Loves to lay on couch and get loving while binging shows. He is a Strong boy, enjoys chewing on his toy and napping. Needs a diet program to lessen joint issues and a joint supplement may help too. Well-mannered and friendly. Suggest a no cat home- he is very reactive when sees cats through baby gate. He will retrieve his leash and will carry when walked. He is good at vet office, and car rides. Must be lifted in and out of autos. He has a very deep bark- not vocal just joins in with others. Current on shots (due 6/2026)and preventatives. If you are ready to give this senior boy a loving home to live out his golden years, apply now https://forms.gle/LDjduj2zTk7vvmHU7 Duke is being fostered in Littlestown, PA Pa LIC #17216

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Layla is a shy, gentle dog who will need a patient family willing to earn her trust and work with her at her own pace. She would thrive with another small dog in the home and needs a securely fenced yard to explore safely. Layla is good with cats but is not recommended for a home with young children. With time, love, and consistency, she will blossom into a loyal and loving companion. REQUIREMENTS: Another small dog,  Fenced Yard Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
🎉 Meet Al! The Ultimate Playmate! 🐾 Get ready to zoom! Al is a striking, 65 lb Bully mix boy (DOB: 09/04/24) who brings a massive dose of fun and snuggles everywhere he goes. 💖 All About the Love If you are looking for an affectionate dog, look no further! Al is an absolute love bug who is incredibly affectionate with everyone. Seriously, all people—including kids—are his best friends! He is neutered, fully current on all his medical needs (vaccines, heartworm, and flea prevention), and microchipped for life. He's also a smart cookie: he is crate trained, house broken and knows some basic commands already! 🤸 Ready, Set, GO! This handsome hunk is a firecracker! Al has high energy, so forget lazy afternoons—he MUST have vigorous daily exercise to burn off steam and be his happiest, most balanced self. He’s looking for an active family ready for adventures. Because of his need to run and play safely, a securely fenced yard is required. A quick word on little ones: While he adores children, his enthusiasm and size can sometimes be "too much" for the smallest kids; he could accidentally knock a tiny human over during playtime. A home with older, sturdy children would be the best fit! 🐈 Critter Connections He's been good with cats, but watch out—he's a bit of a goofball and tends to "harass" them (in a playful way, of course!). Tolerant felines are a must, or maybe just a cat-free zone. Al is ready to be your shadow, your running buddy, and your ultimate couch potato after a good long walk. Are you ready for his all-star energy? If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN PENNSYLVANIA AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama, Pennsylvania and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!
