This adorable little guy is Denver and we think he's a Puggle (Pug & Beagle) mix who is approximately 2 years old and fully grown at 40 pounds although we think he could use a few extra pounds. He's a very sweet and loving guy who has a medium-low energy level. He gets along great with everyone he meets and all sizes of other dogs. He's very affectionate but can be a little shy when he first meets you but warms up quickly and then wants to be your best friend. He's a smart little guy who loves car rides and going for walks. He pulls a little on the leash but is getting much better with practice. He's such a great size and has a wonderful demeanor so he'll be a perfect family dog. He's fully vetted and crate trained too so he'll be easy to live with. He deserves a great family and we think he'd be great with kids. He'd love a fenced in backyard. Story
Howdy from Texas! We are 6-month-old Pug mix sisters, Olive and Pickles, and we are looking for forever homes. Unfortunately, we wound up in a high-kill animal shelter in Port Lavaca, and our owner never came to claim us. Fortunately, we are adorable, tiny, sweet, and friendly, so 4 Little Paws Rescue made a 6-hour drive to pick us up, and we are now safe and sound and having fun staying in a foster home while getting ready to find new families. I am Olive. I weigh 7.7 lbs and am a little bigger than Pickles. I’m sort of the ringleader of our little 2-pack, playful and happy with gobs of puppy energy and sass, LOL. I’m affectionate and sweet, but only until I see something fun I could be doing instead; then, I’ll want to get busy. I instantly make friends with all people, young and old, and other dogs who could be possible playmates! I love chew toys and doggy treats, and right now, I am working on leash walking and am off to a great start. I love the outdoors and going for rides in the car. My foster mom says I’m a wonderful little girl with so much personality, and I love new adventures and new things to explore in the yard and the house. I am ready for my next great adventure, heading for the Eastern Seaboard so I can be an East Coast girl! Inquire about me today! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. Ted - 6 years, 18lbs, Pug/Chi Mix, Neutered  This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Level of dog ownership experience needed:BEGINNER: This means we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale due to its breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup.  MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60  minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty trained?Probably! Adults usually are, but all will have transitional accidents for the first week or so. A consistent walking route and schedule plus finding spots with grass or dirt can help. Social with other dogs?Yes, but we don’t know to what degree yet. Some like to wrestle with every passing pup, others can coexist well but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ll learn more soon. Social with cats?Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds.  Comfortable with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)We’re not sure yet, but we try to err on the side of caution. Respectful kids ages 8 and up are probably a safe bet. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully.  Okay in the city?We don’t know yet. Most adult dogs do well in the city after they’ve had time to adjust to a new environment, but some never adapt and need homes in the burbs.  Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Puerto Rico or Southern California. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes.
