WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. She gets along well with the dogs in her foster home, though she tends to keep to herself, so a respectful canine companion or a home where she can enjoy quiet independence would be a great fit.WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Sage spent her entire life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. When her 'breeders' decided they no longer had a use for her, they planned to discard her. Thankfully, WISE was able to step in and rescue her giving her a second chance to experience the love and warmth of a real home. He was rescued with his mom and siblings from an over crowded house. His mom is Brie and she weighs about 10 lbs. She tested negative for Chagas. He's safe now and ready for a forever home! .  Queso loves to explore, play with toys, and snuggle in your arms. In true terrier fashion, he’s clever and eager to learn. He’d thrive in a home where he gets plenty of playtime, attention, and love. This puppy is under 16 weeks of age as of 1/6/2025. He is too young for Heartworm or Chagas testing. Because this puppy is from the state of Texas…an area endemic for Chagas disease…we strongly recommend that they be tested once they reach at least 16 weeks of age.
