Meet Paddy! Ok ….. prepare to FALL IN LOVE with “Paddy,” he’s the cutest pug mix you’ve seen in a bit - we think he’s a pug/dachshund mix but that’s not official. Course he is pretty short, longer body, pug features and you can’t see it in his swimmong pic today but his tail curls in a tight pug loop! He’s outgoing and so happy and swims like a fish. He’s around 12 pounds and nearly 7 months old (as of October 2024)  Interested in adopting? Email adrienne@rescuemega.org or fill out an adoption application on our website- www.rmgdogs.org PLEASE NOTE: RMG requires an adult dog in the home for all puppy adoptions ##2184530##

Story
Meet Auggie Auggie is seeking a local, adult only home with a fenced yard and a similarly sized playmate! Auggie is an adorable 6.5 yr old, 15 lb Pug/Chihuahua mix who was picked up a stray and never reclaimed. He was highly stressed in the shelter and we didn’t hesitate to pull him when his time was up. Auggie is a sweet silly boy, a definite lap dog and does expect full furniture privileges. He loves toys! He enjoys going for walks and rides in the car. Auggie loves to play with other similar sized energetic dogs but is intimidated by bigger dogs. He is looking for a home with another small dog and will not be placed in a home with big dogs! . Older dogs may not appreciate his enthusiasm. He does okay with a dog savvy cat but for cats not used to dogs he would not be a good fit. Auggie is a resource guarder and because of this he will not be placed in a home with children. He has super sensitive hearing and will protect you from the UPS truck so apartment living is not in his future! Auggie is crate trained and housetrained. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, HW tested negative and on prevention. He does need to lose a couple pounds. Auggie has been in foster care for quite some time now and we really dont know why - we know the perfect home is out there somewhere! LOCAL INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE

Story
A FRIENDLY & ADORABLE GUY:  Approx. 11 years old / Approx. 23 lbs. & needs to lose weight Hi, my name is Tex!  I had a home, as I was adopted from Mostly Mutts a few years ago.  Unfortunately, my family fell on hard times, so I am back with Mostly Mutts looking for a new family to love!  I’m a charming little senior guy, full of love, and I’d be the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal friend.  While I wait for my furever family to find me, I am in a wonderful, loving foster home – come meet me soon! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I like the older dog in my foster home, and the 2 younger and smaller dogs I met, too!  I appreciate that they are mellow and calm.  If one of them does something I’m not too fond of, I might growl or bark to let them know – but not in an aggressive way and I’m generally tolerant.  So, if you have another a calm or older dog, that is mellow, let’s meet!  / Cats unknown. / I met some young kids in my foster home, and I would tug at them when they’d run around me.  I was sweet about it as I wanted to spend time with them, but I also wanted them to calm down, as I didn’t like them running and yelling.  I think kids 12+ would be best for me, who understand that I don’t like rowdy behavior, but I do like kids. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  When asked, the volunteers at the shelter describe me with one main word – SWEET!  I was always excited to see them, since I am very much a people dog.  I seek out attention whenever I can and have been very friendly.  When guests leave my foster home, I may tug at their pants as if to stay, ‘no wait, don’t go’! My foster has started picking me up to watch guests leave as it keeps me calm.  I am a ‘wonderful gentleman’ just looking for a family to love and be loved by!  In my foster home, they say that I’m a sweet, friendly, gentle, and a mannerly gentleman too! I like to ‘talk’ with my fosters and sometimes we ‘sing’ together too. / My energy level is 3-5 but I still love going for daily walks with my foster! • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I do fairly well with the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, and ‘come’ commands and have shown great leash manners.  I also utilize proper door etiquette and greet friendly strangers usually without jumping, though I do get excited to meet them.  I take treats gently, too. My fosters can eat at the coffee table with me sitting next to them on the couch and I haven’t tried to get their food – I count that as a good skill!  I consider it my job to be an alert barker like when a delivery person pulls up or a squirrel runs by, and sometimes I bark with the other dogs.  I think I’d bark a bit too much at all the noises that are in an apartment building, so best no apartment/condo type home.  / I don’t need a crate in my foster home. / My potty habits have been good in my foster home.  My foster has pee pads for her own dog, and I will occasionally use those, too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I thrive on attention and love being with people!  Scratches and head kisses make me happy, and I enjoy sitting next to my foster family, but not really in their laps. I like car rides, so let’s go explore some fun places together.  I may be a senior, but I still have that pep in my step!  I LOVE going for walks and sometimes walk for up to 3 miles with my foster.  Being outside - on walks or in the backyard with my family - makes me the happiest and I will politely bark to let her know it’s time to come back in.  I’m not a big fan of toys, but I sure would be a fan of being your loving companion! / Though I ride very well in the car, my foster doesn’t think that I love to do that.  I can’t think of any real dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  Since I’m an older fellow, I take an over-the-counter Cosequin supplement that’s good for all older dogs.  I am looking for a loving home with a wonderful family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  February 9, 2025, 8:00 am

Story
Biscute arrived from a home that had him for 8 months. He was kept outside and shared food with the other dogs. The owner could no longer care for him so Homeward Bound said, “Come on Biscute, we’d love to have you”. From the very start he was friendly and playful, very excited with toys. Quickly he showed us how he can jump and climb. Every human he met was instantly his friend. It was obvious that he’d never had a collar, walked on a leash nor been allowed inside the door. After intake, he was walked and did not seem to mind the leash. Then he was introduced to the sds “bunch”. He was very pleased, ate hungarily, had difficulty navigating his water bowl. After his next walk, Biscute was eager to get back inside. He had already learned he liked a heated kennel and willingly went in. Biscute will go for his first and entire vetting and then be available after the first of March. He weights 23 lbs, has a tan coat with black on his face, curled tail and a pug mix looking face. Maybe a puggle. His adoption fee is $300.00~~If you are interested in this animal, you can complete the questionnaire found on the available pets page of our website http://hbpr.org. You can also email homeward@ellijay.com, contact us on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/HBPR30540/ or call 706-698-4663.Thank you for considering a rescue dog or cat! Don't shop when you can adopt! March 1, 2025, 6:08 am
