Story
This little gal is Siena! She arrived at the shelter as a lost dog with her buddy, Venice, on 11/14. No one has come to reclaim this adorable duo, so they're searching for a new, forever home. They're just the most precious pups; very friendly and loving! The volunteers have discovered Siena and Venice are treat-motivated, which is great because they'll be eager to learn new things in exchange for yummy treats! We'd love to see them adopted together because they seem to be quite smitten with one another. And as we always say, two dogs are better than one! If you have room in your heart and home for these sweethearts, please come meet them today. Siena is approximately 10 months old, and she weighs 17 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines, and she will be spayed, microchipped, and heartworm tested upon adoption. Siena is waiting in run 835; her ID # is 6236. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
A FRIENDLY & ADORABLE GUY:  Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 20 lbs.  Hi, my name is Tex!  I had a home, as I was adopted from Mostly Mutts a few years ago.  Unfortunately, my family fell on hard times, so I am back with Mostly Mutts looking for a new family to love!  Though I’m not the best at smiling for the camera and my pictures may make me look a little grumpy, I am NOT a grumpy boy, but rather friendly and adorable! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I like the older dog in my foster home, and the 2 younger and smaller dogs I met recently too!  I do growl at the mostly blind dog when he bumps into me or approaches me in my dog bed, so my foster corrects that behavior and I try to listen, but I don’t love being bumped by him.  I do nap with him at times though.   I met a puppy too that invaded my personal space and I barked at her to let her know this, though I was tolerant.  So, if you have another dog, let’s meet!  / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet, but I am working on my ‘happy to see you’ jumping, so my foster recommends no very young kids that I may bump over and let’s meet!   • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  When asked, the volunteers at the shelter describe me with one main word – sweet, sweet, sweet!  I was always excited to see them, since I am very much a people dog.  I seek out attention whenever I can and have been very friendly.  When guests leave my foster home, I may tug at their pants as if to stay, ‘no wait, don’t go’! My foster has started picking me up to watch guests leave as it keeps me calm.  I am a ‘wonderful gentleman’ just looking for a family to love and be loved by!  In my foster home, they say that I’m a sweet, friendly, gentle, and a mannerly gentleman too! / My energy level is 3-5. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’ command and have shown great leash manners.  I bet you can teach me even more!  I take treats gently too. I consider it my job to be an alert barker like when a delivery person pulls up or a squirrel runs by, and sometimes I bark with the other dogs.  I think I may bark a bit too much at all the noises that are in an apartment building, so probably best no apartment/condo type home.  / I don’t need a crate in my foster home. / I had a few accidents on the shelter schedule but am doing well in my foster home as long as I’m taken out often enough.  My foster has pee pads for her own dog that I’ve learned to potty on, if I need to go and can’t get outside, so you may want to consider having those for me too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I thrive on attention and love being with people!  Scratches and head kisses make me happy, and I enjoy sitting next to my foster family, but not really in their laps.   I’m not a big fan of toys, but I sure would be a fan of being your loving companion! / Though I ride very well in the car, my foster doesn’t think that I love to do that.  I can’t think of any real dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I had a dental cleaning, so my mouth is clean again. Since I’m an older fellow, I take an over-the-counter Cosequin supplement that’s good for all older dogs.  I am looking for a loving home with a wonderful family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  November 3, 2024, 8:07 am

Meet Paddy! Ok ….. prepare to FALL IN LOVE with “Paddy,” he’s the cutest pug mix you’ve seen in a bit - we think he’s a pug/dachshund mix but that’s not official. Course he is pretty short, longer body, pug features and you can’t see it in his swimmong pic today but his tail curls in a tight pug loop! He’s outgoing and so happy and swims like a fish. He’s around 12 pounds and nearly 7 months old (as of October 2024)  Interested in adopting? Email adrienne@rescuemega.org or fill out an adoption application on our website- www.rmgdogs.org PLEASE NOTE: RMG requires an adult dog in the home for all puppy adoptions ##2184530##

Story
Meet Auggie Auggie is seeking a local, adult only home with a fenced yard and a similarly sized playmate! Auggie is an adorable 5 yr old, 15 lb Pug/Chihuahua mix who was picked up a stray and never reclaimed. He was highly stressed in the shelter and we didn’t hesitate to pull him when his time was up. Auggie is a sweet silly boy, a definite lap dog and does expect full furniture privileges. He loves toys! He enjoys going for walks and rides in the car. Auggie loves to play with other similar sized energetic dogs but is intimidated by bigger dogs. He is looking for a home with another small dog and will not be placed in a home with big dogs! . Older dogs may not appreciate his enthusiasm. He does okay with a dog savvy cat but for cats not used to dogs he would not be a good fit. Auggie is a resource guarder and because of this he will not be placed in a home with children. He has super sensitive hearing and will protect you from the UPS truck so apartment living is not in his future! Auggie is crate trained and housetrained. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, HW tested negative and on prevention. He does need to lose a couple pounds. Auggie has been in foster care for quite some time now and we really dont know why - we know the perfect home is out there somewhere! LOCAL INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE

Story
Hi! I’m Fig, the cutest, spunkiest 10-pounds of fluff in Georgia! While I may be a little shy when I first meet you, once we know each other, I’ll quickly become your loving and loyal bestie. Speaking of BFFs, I get along with everyone! Adults, children, big and small dogs, and even cats. These are all just friends that I haven’t yet met. I’m a Pughuahua, which is part Pug and part Chihuahua. Pughuahua is a fun word, isn’t it? It’s almost as entertaining as playing tug, fetching balls, and going on walks. I also love getting treats, snuggling on the couch, and curling-up in bed with my people. I’m a really good boy who’s both crate- and house-trained. I’m microchipped, neutered, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventative meds. And, I’m quickly learning loose-leash walking. Let’s meet! Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Story
We took Hope in 2 years ago when I heard from work that there were 18 mo old pups outside in Dec that needed homes. Hope is the absolute sweetest dog. She is very trainable, but we have not had the time to train her. She is trained to stay in our yard w/ an underground fence. She is trained to sit, and to take food out of my hand softly. Hope currently stays in a crate overnight and while we are at work, school, and after school sports, and that is the problem. She deserves so much more love and attn because she is such a little gem. The negatives are that she is still a pup with lots of energy and muscular build, so I don't think she is ideal for small children. She would never harm them but could unintentionally knock them down. If she is left unattended for a long period, she has been known to chew items, but not a lot. I would love for Hope to have an owner that has time to spend time with her. She loves to snuggle like a lap dog. She loves car rides. Loves people and other dogs!
