Story
Look at how darn cute I am! I am a sweet little girl who is looking for her forever home. I am only 8 months so I have lots of time to get used to whatever family I get adopted to. I have been spayed already though so that is not something you need to worry about. Please keep in mind I am very small right now so if you have rambunctious kids that's great but just make sure they play gentle with me, same goes of big dogs too. Or even big cats, cos some of them are bigger than me! Make all my dreams come true. *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*

Story
Name: Enzo Nicknames: Lorenzo. Enzy Benzy. Enzo Benzo. Hulk. Breed: Pug Mix..with what you may ask? who knows. Age: ~2 years Weight: ~42 lbs. A hefty and healthy beefcake. Before OMD: Found as a stray, but owner was identified and then signed him over to the city shelter. Shortly after he became an OMD Rescue pup when a foster stepped up. Reminds us of: A linebacker mixed with a sumo wrestler. Also: Just give him a cigar, tophat, and a deck of cards for poker... Energy Level: Low/medium. For a young guy, Enzo is chill. He loves his walks and is an extreme sniffer, wants to investigate everything and greet everyone. He is content to sleep and snore by your feet during the day, and side at night. Short bursts of hilarious energy are followed by peaceful, long snore sessions. What we love most: His rolls. The size of his ginormous head, which is in proportion to the massive amounts of affection he is ready to give. His passion for snuggling and naps. His sweet, care-taking demeanor with his foster Pug brother. His can-do attitude – up for anything adventurer. What he loves most: Foster mom. The corner of the couch pillows. Belly rubs. Cuddling. Car rides. Need to know: Enzo is a resource guarder and needs an experienced (with a good sense of humor) adopter. He guards the more "traditional" things like his food bowl, bones, and toys but also the more non-traditional things like his beloved couch cushions and blankets. One time he guarded the refrigerator from his temp foster (insert joke about meeting our dieting goals…..who needs ozempic?). Enzo will thrive with boundaries, structure, routine, and continued training and management. Kids: Nope. see above. Dogs: He has met many dogs and done well. He does best with dogs his size and smaller. Cats: Unknown Housetrained: Yes Crate trained: Yes, but will bark initially Vet note: Enzo has been diagnosed with Pigmentary keratitis by an opthamologist. He has good vision, but is given daily eye drops and ointment and will need a follow up with an opthamologist in 2 months. Enzo is not a fan of vet exams and gets very spicy during close examination of his face so he does need to be sedated. Enzo is vaccinated, neutered, had a dental/broker tooth removed, and microchipped. He is available for adoption to residents of CT and IL and their surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from our website (in comments).

Margo is located in Texas. Transportation is available for any out of state approved adopter. Cost of transportation is $230 in addition to her adoption fee. Margo is a sweet, affectionate little cutie! She gets along with others, even though she can get a little bossy if one of them is in her foster mom’s lap. She’s a tad bit jealous. She loves to play. We are not sure of her history but apparently she traveled some. Riding in a car doesn’t seem new to her. We aren’t sure of her breed but her curly tail suggests a Pug mix.*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Once adoption is finalized the pet will be transported to the adopters location for an additional fee (currently $230-$250).* The adoption fee helps to cover some of the cost of vetting the animal prior to adoption (spay/neuter, microchipping, and up to date vaccinations). Please fill out an adoption application to be considered for adoption. https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41

Story
This charming 3-year-old, 13-pound Pug mix is as sweet as can be! Bourbon has a laid-back personality and gets along well with other dogs, though he prefers to enjoy his meals solo.He was found as a stray and is currently working on gaining some much-needed weight. Despite his rough start, Bourbon is a loving and gentle boy who’s ready for a forever home. He did test heartworm positive, but he’s undergoing the slow-kill treatment method, which has been very effective for us.Bourbon would thrive in a home that can give him the love, care, and good meals he deserves. If you’re looking for a chill, affectionate companion, Bourbon might be your perfect match!Could Bourbon be the one for you? Apply today to meet him!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.February 7, 2025, 5:16 am

Story
It’s Puggle Time! Meet Hijinx, 19 month old puggle parkour expert! With his pug-featured face/markings, exuberant & energetic personality, Hijinx is a great dog for an active family or individual. He loves to cuddle as much as he loves to play & explore his surroundings. Left to his own devices, he will leap surface-to-surface to explore all kinds of elevated areas, so good thing he is crate trained 😂🤣. Hijinx is child, dog, & cat friendly. A stray for a prolonged period of his life, he has been a bit slow to master housebreaking, so having him wear a belly band when indoors is strongly recommended. He is a friendly, very affectionate goofball in search of his furever home. Attributes: Child friendly Dog friendly Cat safe Crate trained Needs to wear belly band indoors Walks well on leash Local adoption fee is $300 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $650 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Meet Wednesday. This beautiful black Pug is 3 years old, a little sweetheart, very friendly, has lots of energy and only weights 14lbs. Owner surrender which is a good thing as she was totally neglected, left outside to be eating alive my mosquitoes and was diagnosed with heartworm, thankfully this didn't cause any health issues, we got her just in time, the heartworm was just developing so we have her on treatment and she will make a full recovery. Please submit an application to meet this little girl. The Chasing Sunshine Dog Rescue adoption donation is $595.00. This includes: spay/neuter (at our vet), vaccines (dhpp, bordetella, rabies), microchip, health certificate, fecal test and our dogs are on preventatives for fleas/ticks/heartworm. Out of state adopters must also pay for an interstate health certificate to their state. (This is typically around $65.00. Adopter will pay actual cost.)
