Story
This adorable boy is Tater. He is a one-year-old 36 lb pug mix. Tater is a confident, happy-go-lucky fella who is comfortable doing his own thing. He plays with toys for awhile and then comes for a cozy snuggle. Tater will be an excellent companion for someone who would love a quiet, medium-energy dog. Tater would do well in an apartment or a house. He does not like having his toys grabbed away from him so a home without young kids is best. Tater is a fun, sweet dog and ready for all kinds of adventures, including chilling on the couch and binge watching TV! He is fine with dogs in a play setting but doesn't like to share his toys, so best to be the only dog in the home. We don't know what Tater thinks of cats but can cat-test him if needed. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and healthy. His adoption fee is $400. If you would like to meet/adopt Tater, please complete our online application at https://daws.org/daws-forms or stop by our shelter Wednesday-Sunday between 12 and 6 PM. The DAWS shelter address is 147 Grassy Plain St. Bethel. Email daws@daws.org if you need assistance or have any questions. Tater can't wait to meet you!

Story
Meet Poppy & Peanut – The Perfect Pair of Pug Love   Double the pugs, double the love! Meet Poppy and Peanut, a bonded brother-and-sister duo of purebred pugs who just turned one year old—and they’re ready to melt your heart. These two are the definition of inseparable: where one waddles, the other is close behind, sharing every cuddle, nap, and toy with total devotion.   Sadly, their loving owner had to make the heartbreaking decision to give them up due to sudden health issues and a necessary move. But now, Poppy and Peanut are looking for a forever home together—because their bond is something truly special, and they thrive in each other’s company.   These adorable little nuggets are affectionate beyond belief. Whether they’re curled up in your lap, snuggling next to you on the couch, or napping peacefully at your feet, they just want to be near their people (and each other). They’re well-behaved and trained to use puppy pads, though they’re happy to do their business outside when given the chance. Bedtime and naptime? No problem—they settle down like champs, especially when they have each other close by.   They adore stuffed animals, belly rubs, and anyone who’s willing to love on them. Honestly, they’re gems—sweet-natured, well-adjusted, and just plain adorable. Keeping them together isn’t just the right choice—it’s the best one. Because Poppy and Peanut are more than just pets; they’re a built-in duo of joy, snuggles, and silly pug antics.   If you’re ready to open your heart and home to twice the love, contact us to meet Poppy and Peanut. Two pugs, one perfect pair—waiting just for you.    Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and ask for an application    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 17, 2025, 7:36 pm

Story
Meet Nala, a brave ~5 year old spayed female pug mix with a heart of gold! She weighs about 20 lbs. This sweet girl was saved from being euthanized, but thanks to a second chance at life, she's ready to thrive in her forever home. Nala came into rescue with some skin issues, which have been treated with anti fungal meds and shampoo. It is healing and she is looking MUCH better!  This little lady has a big personality in a small package! She loves to strut her stuff and show off her bold side around other dogs, often trying to act tougher than she is. This girl shines brightest around her favorite humans. Although she has not been formally cat or kid tested, we think she'd do well with gentle, dog-savvy kids and cats.  Nala is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Will you give this sweet girl the happy life she deserves?  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2401110##
